WB 16 - HTML5 Video

Post by andyp »

V16.0.3 (Oct 3 2020)

Having a problem with an embedded video

http://apgraphx.co.uk/vgtest/master1

Setting the video to auto play isn't working for me.

However setting it to show controls allows for video to be played.

Access to wbs file shown on test page

Thanks
Andy

Auto play is blocked by many if not all browsers so settling the controls to show allows the user(s) to manually start and stop if they wish. It was implemented by Chrome first as it was deemed annoying to have to listen to audio they may not want to hear. A example of this was sites that use / have background music playing.

This has nothing to do with WB16.
Auto play standard HTML functionality. However, most browsers disable auto play when the video has audio.

Thanks for the reply but the video does not have an audio?

However I have set it as a layer with the link to the video ;)

The only issue with that is that the layer is blank within the work space so have had to put a thin line around it... and its difficult to size up without the black sides showing....but nevertheless it works.
