background image

Post by davehappen »

i don't normally use a background image but would like to use one now, i've tried all the combination for the image in background and can't get it to fit the page size (it spreads across the whole screen), is there a way to relegate the image to the size of my page or is it as is.

To cover the entire background, set the background size to 'cover'

Cover will be applied to all breakpoints unless you select a different background mode.
2. all pages set to center but show on the left?????
As mentioned in the tutorial, the page alignment should be set the 'do not center this page' when you use layout grids.
With layout grid the layout is always full width unless you set a maximum-width.

I'm not sure exactly what you are trying to but you could try this for the background image. In the background, select image, set the horizontal and vertical to Center and in the Size box choose 100% 100% in the drop down and then type over this with 970px 540px and change the height (540px) to whatever the real height is of the image with width 970px. You may have to play a bit but this should work. You can change the above in breakpoints if needed but keep in mind that the image wont 'scale' doing it this way since you are setting a fixed width and height on it.

As for you last issue, your index page is blank in the demo link. However, if you are referring to the 'test' page, there are 2 issues:

1. In the page properties, you have page alignment set to 'center horizontally'. This should be changed to 'do not center page' since you are using layout grids and floating layers.
2. All your floating layers have floating mode set to default. This means they will only be as wide as they are in the workspace which is why they appear on the left of the screen. Change this to full width.
