strange anomaly

Post by davehappen »

web site built and up loaded, four breakpoints 1280, default, 768 & 320, all working from a master page, four of the pages are working correctly in all views but one page ( BEFORE & AFTER ) the footer is very low on the page in default & 1280 breakpoints ie: large expanse of empty page before footer appears. ive tried clicking around the empty space to see if there's anything there but i can see no reason for it.
Is theresomething im missing.

First note that the page name is invalid.
Please do not use '&' in names, this may confuse the browser, because this symbol is used to split URL parameters.

Another problem is the breakpoint values: the default view should be the widest view. So, the 1280px break must be removed (from all pages).

hi Pablo, ive changed the page name as you suggested and made the default page 1280, with 980,768 and 320, the same page still has the anomaly.
default, 980 and 768 footer still not working properly, in 320 breakpoint it works great, ??????

I will look at your project after the weekend, but why aren't you using a page footer instead of a layer?

when ever i try to use a footer it jumps to the top of the page and no matter what attribute i give it, it just stays there.

I do not see a footer in your layout. The 'footer' is a standard layout grid.
You can use the arrange tools to move it to the end of the layout. Or set the 'Position' property of the layout grid to 'Footer'

Also, the content place holder should be set to 'floating'. Related tutorial: http://wysiwygwebbuilder.com/master_frame.html

hi Pablo, ive got rid of the 1280px breakpoints and gone back to 970,768 and 320, all works well in all the break points except for BEFORE-AFTER break point 768, its frustrating that the one breakpoint lets down the site, im very curious to find out why this is happening, i've tried changing the content box to floating as you suggested and the header disappears, i change a setting in the header and something else disappears. i'm happy with the site but for the one point break, if you have time to play with it please do so i have all the old settings recorded so i can compare and see my mistakes.
thanks for your help.

I think the issues is related to the 320 breakpoint. In this breakpoints, the layer is hidden. However the child elements of the layer have a 'random' position, so this affects the layout.
To solve this:
- unhide the layer
- move the child elements inside the layer and make them as small as possible, so they are inside the viewport.
- then you can hide the layer again

All I did was change the 768 breakpoint -> resize text6.
