Image saving

Post by janez72 »

I have latest 15 version installed.
When trying to save a .png file with "save as image" and with some shade added, the shade is not exported.
This is, when I use blank template (default) with no project loaded.

When I load a project, shade AND overlayed text is not exported.
Only image and shapes are recognised.

It all still works normally in 14 version, so I do it there now.

Unfortunately, I did not even know that you could export images with shadow. This is not an official feature.
So, this functionality has not been implemented in WB15.

How do I do this in WB14?

Yeah, sure it's working, you just need to export it as .png, not .jpg.
"Save as image" and it's done.

So, my solution is to keep the WB14 installed?

And I tried once again - when a project is loaded, merged objects are saved as image, but the text layer is missing.
And the shade also, of course.

Can you please create a demo project and describe exactly what I need to do to see the problem?

Which version of Windows do you have?

I have unforunately no space anywhere online to put up demo pages.
And the page looks just fine, all layers are visible.

It's simple, really - when you put an image and text above it in layer, export it with "Save as image", the text is missing on a final exported file.
The layered shape is there, but not text.
However, it's there, when exporting form a blank page (default) with no project loaded.

It all worked fine in WB14.

I'm sorry, but it is not clear which option you are using.
How do you save a Layer as an image? Where did you find that option in the menu?

All I am asking is a simple demo project so I can see all the settings. This may help me understand which functionality is missing, so I can also implement in the new version.

I made a litle sample in V14, just with the shadow and the text as a watermark.
In V14 if you save the file as png the shadow is on the picture.
I use this option to resample the png and then I import the resampled png with shadow
back into the programme as a normal png.
I've included the saved png from wysiwyg in the zip.
Really nice future for reampling such images

In older versions the border was merged with the image, this made the image not responsive so it could not be used in responsive websites.
So that is why WWB now uses standard CSS borders instead.

To save the image with its border, use 'merge' on the image and then save as image.

I merged image (bottom layer), shape (middle layer) and text on top.
Then exported the merged object with "Save as image".
In exported file, text is missing.

it worked normally in WB14.
