Adding a sound file

Hi -
Maybe simply for some, but can someone tell me how I can add a simply sound file to a page
that plays once and without showing any controls on the page?

Did you try the built-in HTML5 audio player?

I did try the HTML5 audio player but even when I ticked the hide - it still shows a box

This may depend on the browser you are using.
Some browsers may (intentionally) not hide it, to give the user contol over the sound.
