Spell Checker - What Am I Missing?

Post by ShawnInPaso » Wed Jan 02, 2019 4:44 am

I've read the help files and searched the forum and realize that WWB uses Windows native spell checker. My Windows 7 PC spell checks anything I'm using (email, winword, web browsers, etc.) , but I can't get it to work in WWB? I've also looked to the Microsoft help pages, but came up empty handed there too.

Perhaps as a clue, in WWB in the Review tab, there is a spell checker menu in the upper left window, but it is grayed out. Please forgive me if this has been asked many times, but I'm not that good at spelling. :)

Edit to add: I'm using WWB 14.1

Thank you,

Shawn

The native spell checker is only available in Window 8 and newer.

Alternatively, you can use the Spell checker extension.

Thank you for your prompt reply Pablo. I figured I was missing something.

Now the issue is, the "log in" that requires my serial number results in this message:

"We're sorry the serial number you've entered is not recognized by the system.
Please make sure you enter a valid serial number."

I purchased the software on 12/15/18 and entered the serial number (beginning with WWB14) as received via email on the extension download site ?

Thank you again for the help.

Your account seems to be ok, please disable your firewall or any other utility which might prevent you from logging in.
Make sure you entered the serial number exactly as you received it from the reseller.
Also try logging in on another computer or browser, so you can be sure it's not just this one PC that is causing the problem.

(manually verified)

Also note that you can download the extensions directly from within the program by using the Extension Manager.

Thank you Pablo, I installed the spell checker from within the program and it is now working fine. I am very grateful.

While I have your attention, I must say I am loving the new version. I have been using an old version of WWB for a very long time and the update is amazing. The responsive web design is genius and works so well.

Best to you!

Shawn
