For multi line input you can use a Text Area object.
For multi line buttons you can use the Advanced Button.

THank you

However, there seems to be a problem with the advanced button

If I am interpreting the html correctly, the information, the text, font color etc is no longer taken fron the button style or "value" of the button

It seem to be coming from a div style

likewise the id on the button is now ineffective in terms of setting the VALUE of the button (from Javascript)

Correct, an advanced button is a button with formatting (like a text object), so the characters have their own styling.

The value can be set in the properties, just like a standard button.

Thank you for that response

My problem is this

The code being produced with the advanced button is:
<button id="ans4" class="button" type="button" style="position:absolute;left:484px;top:586px;width:293px;height:110px;z-index:45;" name="" value="" class="button">
<div style="text-align:center"><span style="line-height:1.50;"><span style="color:#FFFFFF;font-family:Arial;font-size:13px">Answer 1</span></span></div>
</button>

I need the id for javascript to change what is displayed, which was value of the button. With the above coding, what is displayed is what is in the div -span. So how do I give the div an id in WB14?

Thanks

In HTML, a 'button' element (in WWB called 'advanced button') does not use the value for the button text. It only works this way for a 'input' element (standard button).

Note that this has nothing to do with WWB. This is just how it works.

No <div> is used on the 'Advanced Button' the same applies to the 'Themeable Button' and the 'Button' from Form Controls. You should note 'Buttons' are meant to be used as part of 'Form' and not on a page by themselves. To understand better see and read the urls provided by Pablo which explains there use.
