NEW EXTENSION

Post by Adendum »

Jordon,

I just added "Simple Horizontal Accordion" to the extensions under the Miscellaneous section. Available from here

This extension provides a simple accordion that can be fully customised to add numerous sliding tabs (using images) and sliding content (using the HTMLtext box extension).

Working demo available here

Jordon,

I just added "Automated Tool Tip" to the extensions under the Miscellaneous section. Available from here.

This extension will prove useful for those pages (or entire web sites) where technical or complex words require a glossary or definition to assist the visitor in understanding the page or site content.

Working demo available here.

Hello Adendum,

very nice, first extension? congrats!
but I only 'list' extensions to which I can create a link to from this section (+official extensions)
so, if you want me to add it to this index then please create a topic in this section for your extension

Hi Jordan,

No the Tooltip extension was the second - see the post above. The simple Horizontal Accordion was my first (the day before!!).

So I need to create a post here or somewhere with a zip file link for each extension? I have posted in the "share an extension" forum but I used the same format as in here - pointing to the WWB extensions web site.

Why are there less extension on the WWB extensions site than appear in this thread anyway? Shouldn't they ALL be in the WWB extensions site? I'm confused.

I know (ur 2nd extension) … I already added your Tooltip extension to this index
because you have made a reference in this section to your extension, wherever it is posted (download)
so … no Adendum, you do not have to create an extra zip … etc
just make a reference in this section with a link (reference/download) to your extension

two places indeed, this index and the official extension manager …
the official extension manager has been build recently (since end last year)
so before that this was the only indexed reference for extensions, hence it's longer
if extension builders want to make use (or not) of the official extension manager is up to there own choice
I do not want to make use of it, for my own personal reasons …

Jordon,

You've added the Automated Tooltip to the list using the details I posted in this thread. I also posted in this thread with the Simple Horizontal Accordion (using the same style of post), so do I need to do anything else or will you use that post to add Simple Horizontal Accordion to the list?

Aah like that ... but no … I need a new post as reference
create a new topic in this section (so, not a reference in this topic)
just like your Tooltip extension has it's own topic
that way, if people have any questions regarding your extension, they can easily ask it in that related topic

Yup that be it … but why'd you post it in the Template section
post it again, but then in this Extension section (or ask support to correct it)

Hi Jordan,

Thanks for that. I guess it could be used as a menu but it's not what most people use accordions for. They're generally used for images or text. This can handle both and at the same time. Hard to know how to classify it really....maybe you need a new sector for sliders/accordions? lol...you didn't want to hear that did you!

to me an accordion provides access to content by some sort of navigation, that to me suffice as a menu
many extensions could fall into different categories, sub-categories etc
and your right I don't want to hear that . .
I would be juggling extensions all over the place, I think people will find your extension just fine like this . 8) .

hi Adendum,

you can also drop me a mail with a link to your extension ( info at top of index - at - jorextensions@telfort.nl )
I always reply a mail back if I got no time to update the index, but will ASAP ...
I don't always get a mail when a new message is added to this topic
but if you want to do it this way, is OK too of course
just thought you maybe didn't know . ?

Navaldesign wrote:Sorry Jordan, I never though you would mind changing EB 2.1 to 2.6

Again, sorry.
multiple reasons I mind …
but above all, if I don't know something is changed, the change is not going to be permanent anyway
cause I never edit the index online, but on a file offline, so if you change it without me knowing it
whenever a new extension is added, I just add the new extension offline, then copy/paste it's content
so any change you would have made, would be undone, cause it's not reflected in my offline list
looking ahead …
then most likely you would look at the index and think I purposely re-changed your changing
but at that point I would not even know I unchanged anything … (distrust is poison)

anyway … the world didn't end, yogi is kicking in, I'm zen again . . it's cool - tnx - Navaldesign . .

Please try not to make repeat posts regarding the extension...if it is set to PVT it means it is no longer being shared... in the latest version of WB (WB8) you will be able to add a plugin to use the nivo slider...it is only available for WB8 users... I have removed your email form your post to stop you being spammed...

also create an index based on the developer of

Bendigo,
I feel the current index is fine as users download/look for extension based on their need and not by developers name. So it will be easier for them if the list displays the extension as per their name and utility

ME I don't agree, This would be an addition to what we have. For example you might want to know what extensions BaconFries has done. This way it would be a faster option.

BTW I thought you skipped WWB for "Greener Pastures" of WP...

hi bendigo,

(why not use the search option of your browser?)

there would be many ways to improve an index like this, dynamic by date, alphabetical, user activity, rating, developer etc
question is not could I make such list or lists, but could I maintain such list(s) as a reliable source ?
I would like to think I could, in reality, I simply would not be able to
also an index like this no matter how dynamic will always be as reliable as the user/developer provides it's input, it's info
so, in the end I just concentrate on creating the most reliable index possible, I belief that will benefit the WB user most:)
