AUTOMAIL EXTENSION

What this extension does?
It will place a form on your webpage and when a visitor fills it and submits the same; his details are mailed to the website owner and also are stored on your website in a database (.csv file). Apart from that an auto email is sent to the submitter of the form.

What is this actually meant for?
Well, this is an extension that can be used in various ways…some suggestions-

1) You may use this to send a download link to the visitor after he submits the form. Since the email to the visitor will go to the email address submitted by him, you are sure it is a correct email and may use it for later communication.

2) You may use this as a ‘Subscribe’ form.

3) You may use this to send any data in exchange of correct details of the visitor.

4) You may think of any other way to use it (Please let us know, so we can use it that way too).

Strongly suggest to see the demo...please use a valid email id to see what email you receive. This will help you configure the extension for your personal use

me.prosenjeet, I really like this extension. Another succesful contribution.

A request:

Would it be possible to add into the extension parameters a few things - like extras fiields (taht we add) to label ourselves, such as

name
last name
age
address
postcode
tel number
email

etc etc - in other words so we can add what we want and make it almost like a form

That way we can capture into a csv file and the import into Microsoft Excel to do whatever we want.

Good work me.prosenjeet

Me.prosenjeet, eddy, support - any chance of amending this?

Please see the Features PDF posted by Pablo

- New feature: Added the ability to write form data to a (csv) file.

Can you tell me what is the difference between this and what you have created?

I have not gone through the pdf that minutely but does this feature also support....

Even if version 6 does support all these, keep this extension for the holy souls who do not intend to upgrade to V6
Rather I feel, if support could add the auto mail back as an option it will be great!

Hi Pros,

I wondered if a progress bar could be added to this when the user has entered the correct details and pressed submit? i did notice that it can take up to 10 seconds for the thank you page to arrive and in this time, a user wouldnt know if they have done right or wrong?

do you think it could

A. press submit and error page if the details are not correct
B. press submit and show a progress or waiting bar until the thank you page arrives

regs,

Nigel

It takes a fraction of a second whenever I try the form!

A. press submit and error page if the details are not correct
Is already there...try submitting an incomplete email address.

B. press submit and show a progress or waiting bar until the thank you page arrives
Not possible

im guessing it depends on connection. When i try this at work, its very quick but if i try it at my brothers, its very slow.

i know this is already there. i was just adding into the scenario.

Hi,

the scenario is-

click on the button and if there is an error, go to an error page otherwise go to the thank you page.

i just included the complete scenario rather than part!

Hey, thats what the extension is doing! If error then goes to the error page else to the thankyou page. I am still not getting you!

Oh come on Prosenjeet,

Why try and make this difficult. The essence of explaining a scenario is to elaborate on the situation at hand. In this case-

The extension already redirects to an error page and also to a thank you page based on correct information. I haven't said anything different.

The scenario is-
Go to error page if the data is not right
Show a progress bar and then the thankyou page if the data is correct.

The same as

I'm driving a car an I need to turn right

Which explains a lot more than " I need to turn right". The inclusion of adding "I'm driving a car" give a more detailed explanation of what is happening even though an assuption could have been made.

It makes sense to include all actions so to elaborate on the whole scenario rather than just a small detail where other people might get confused.
