Very nice extension.... Worked

One problem though

Ifyou install to a sub directory, you need to change a few items..
Under the Notify Settings, I uploaded mine to testmail\ccmail

so Under Notify Settings, in any box I had to insert the word testmail

$company_site/testmail/ccmail/index.php?address=[--ADDRESS--]

after that worked great, so far. I dont think that was in the pdf, but I do tend to over read items....lol

Thanks Me.prosenjeet, great work....

This is folder specific and require manual configuration if uploaded to sub folders. I did refer to that in the pdf guide but not directly to this issue :) .
Or if you are using a subfolder(example- ‘marine’) then
www.yoursite.com/marine/ccmail/admin.php

Yes, I seen that in the PDF, but being specific is what a PDF is for. I have installed the extension for a local library and its working great. Thanks for the extension.

I wish someone could provide me some upload space. I hate these free upload site (all of them). If anyone has spare 50-100mb on their servers, do allow me to use to upload utility files for all.
I dont have spare space. My site size is 800kb and I am on as an addon hope you understand

Cannt you use a free hosting for your downloads? you arent posting copyrighted materials to download so why would that not be ok. some free hosting give you 100-500 mb of space.

But the extension is already uploaded to 2 free file hosting sites. If you dont like rapidshare use mediafire!! Personally I prefer Rapidshare. Now, when it is uploaded to Rapidshare and Mediafire if anyone needs it to be added to some another file hosting site, then my suggestion is...either download from any of the available two or forget the extension please.

Ok, got your point but they don't allow to simply use their services for file hosting

What do you mean by 'good web software'? Be specific as to what you want.

Rapidshare is fine, I can wait for downloads, Media is great. Like you stated, if they dont like it, dont download it.

I have unlimited space to host my files, and unlimited bandwitdh you should check into Fluxservices.com, they have a 50 percent off now, and the best hosting provider hands down.
and at 7.95 a month you have unlimited add ons, and you can be your own hosting provider. I have that account and so does every customer of mine. I dont host sites, but you get tons of features. and great support.

Keep up the great work and extensions.....

Hi,

what i mean is, i am happy to give you space on my server but i would need something to handle the browsing for downloads. a page that people would see to select the download. i dont want ftp as its not secure and that could lead to corruption.

so

if there is anything available that supplies an interface for downloading, then that would be good.

awesome, just what I have been looking for. The admin dialog needs a bit getting used to, i.e. 'Click here to test your configuration' wiped out the data entered, but works fine after a try-out.
I was very pleasently surprised that I could switch language.
I did have to chmod 777 for all files and directories, any way that can be built into the extension?.

good job
Willy

Hi

I have installed the newsletter extension as described in the PDF-file, unfortunately I get an (error) message:
PHP Notice: Undefined variable: HTTP_SERVER_VARS in E:\home\c2service.nl\public_html\ccmail\config.php on line 48

What does this mean and more important how to solve this.
News Letter is running on the QnE Web Server

It mean your php version is too old, I think.
No, the script is too old.

In PHP 5 the variable $_HTTP_SERVER_VARS is no longer defined.

Actually, if this extension works fine on your web server, your PHP version is obsolete. Official support for PHP 4 has been discontinued since 2007-12-31.

yettyn wrote:One major issue, when you publish changes to site all settings are overwritten with the original defaults, really annoying.
Yes this is a possibility if you load the page as "upload all".
Either load the page as "upload changed files only" or "upload HTML only"
In any case, if you need to upload as "upload all" in that case just 'cut' the extension from the page and upload all and later 'paste' the extension where it was earlier. Sorry, this will happen with standalone scripts.

yettyn wrote:I understand the problematic with standalone scripts, maybe an improvement for the extensionbuilder having a flag set on a file "only upload if not exists" or something like that.

Otherwise I think cut and paste is the only working way, maybe html but it often doesn't do enough, but if you e.g. cjange languare it's detected as a changed file ehhg and gets replaced.

I any case, could I ask you to release the extension source, actually you are obligated to according to GPL, and I could do my own default adjustments and possibly also contribute with some improvements.

Not to be critical, it's great you produce so many extensions for people to use, but they sometimes lack that "final touch", as I understand you like to move on to something new  releasing the extension source would be a nice remedy for that "issue" and I am sure people would send you patches for improvements as well 8)
You can find the free source code here : http://www.cicoandcico.com

1) yettyn......i personally think you need to re-think your approach to this and find out more solid facts......your coming accross as arrogant and threatening for demanding source codes etc etc.....you dont sound good at all.

2) I do agree to some extent that the extention .xwb should be included to make it custom as you want it to be but its not the end of the world if people dont supply this with the extention.

Just my 2 cents on this subject

yettyn the GPL only covers any modification to the original script any changes to PHP ASP or JS to make it better improve how it works it doesnt cover the extension it self all the extension does is make it simpilar to install for those who do not have the knowledge to change PHP ASP JS.. ie change color of text admin details passwords height etc.
Yes I can hear you say are these not modifications yes and no answer yes there is a modification in script but only to allow the changes through the extension itself, but when viewed you wouldnt notice any changes as they dont show as all that gets shown is what you have changed in the extenion this would be the same as if you had manually installed and changed to suit your own needs. So no terms have been broke.

Wouldnt it just be similar if you want a extension in your language to meet your requirements to make your own extension then you can do what you want with it.

can you use the db from wb login as the db for the newsletter?

I already mentioned in your other thread that you need to modify the code. And, this extension doesn't use a real DB either, it also uses a db file.

Yes I understand that, I guess I'm trying to figure out how to use this login for more than just page security. It seems that you should be able to use login info for other things. It's just so close to being full featured login w/ users/groups.
by the way I think that it's great to see a software so well supported. I haven't used wb for awhile and you've made some nice improvements to it.
Thanks

Awesome extension!

Question:
When person subscribing receives the e-mail showing "To validate your subscription, click here", the link goes to the index.php page showing "Welcome to CcMail 1.0!".

Can I edit the index.php page so it doesn't show that entire page? I would like it to simply show a page or popup message with "Your e-mail address has been validated" and nothing more. No links, no menus.
