*** SOLVED *** Some Pages Do Not Update

Post by Damien »

I recently updated two pages on my web site.
One page, to which I added only an image, updated perfectly.
The other page, to which I added the same image and 3 lines of text, did not update.

When I previewed the pages before publishing, the updates were there on both pages.
When I clicked on "Visit website page" before publishing, the updates were there on both pages.

When I clicked on "Publish," I got a message that the pages was published successfully.

I've looked at both pages using 4 different browsers.
The page with only the image is fine on all browsers.
The page with the image and 3 lines of text is not updated on any browser.

I've tried publishing again several times.
I've cleared the cache.
I've spoken to my hosting company and they say everything is fine on their end.

What else can I do to get the page to update?

It still sounds like browser cache, even though you say you cleared it. Did you use 'Ctrl' + 'f5' to clear the cache, or through the browser settings?

Try another browser, just to be sure. I find Google Chrome to be the worst offender, if that is what you are using.

I tried several browsers (AOL; Chrome; Firefox; Edge) and still got the same result.
I also just republished the page, but the updates are not being published.

The page that is not updating is the landing page. (The first page you see when you go to the site.)
In the middle of the page are 5 graphics, but there should be a 6th graphic. (The one that's not updating.)
Also, the last line of text on the page begins "Bruno Saw the Doctor..."
But there should be 3 more lines of text below that. That's the text that is not updating.

The page that is updating is the page for "Mark My Worms."
You can access it by clicking on the "Mark My Worms" link below the brown/white graphic that says LaBute. (On the landing page)
That will take you to the page that is updating.
On the right is a graphic that says "Newmarket Festival of One-Act Plays." (The one with 5 faces)
This is the graphic that is not updating on the landing page.

The updated page is here:
http://www.carypepper.com/Index.html

You have multiple index pages: http://www.carypepper.com/Index.html and http://www.carypepper.com/Index.html

I strongly recommend to use lower-casing for your page names to prevent confusion.

It worked!!!

All I had to do was changed Index to index.

Thanks SO much!

Do I have to delete the nndex.html page, or does this change (now that the web site is updating) take care of that?

If you update the page in the Site Manger then the old page will be overwritten the next time you publish.
