Yes, I did search the forums for an answer before I posted this, nothing found.
I have a website that I've had for years, built with an earlier version of WYSIWYG Web Builder and updated using 09. FTP still works fine on my Windows 7 Pro. BUT I am developing a new website and using a different host (should not be an issue as I'm familiar with it and have used it often before.) FTP now refuses to work with the new website, giving a 12029 error. ALL firewalls are turned off and as mentioned, FTP works fine with the other website file. I have been VERY careful to check the spelling as well as all usernames, passwords, etc. for the new site. Still get the same error! HELP!

What happens if you connect using something like FileZilla?

Mayeb the host does not support standard FTP and you will need to use SecureFTP?

I answered my own question. Close it.
Re: Baffling 12029 error
I'm sorry, I should have explained what was causing the issue:
It was NOT a firewall issue as is usually the case with a 12029 error but rather a name server issue with the domain. Simple fix but wasn't where I was looking at first (or second.)
