Other groups of icons as mentioned above are still published on server .woff,.ttf, .eot, .svg.
Fortunately, when publish as svg is set, they use svg image which doesn't add up to page weight.

Is it possible it was done the same way as with Font Awesome - no font files are published just the icon

The 'Icon font' object has the same properties as 'Font awesome icon'.

But the icon font publishes additional font files
