Icons not appearing on published website

I am new to all of this. I have a problem with icons. I've put icons in a couple different places on my website. On the preview, they look great, however, when I publish the website using FTP there's a small X with a square around it on the live website instead of the icon. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.

You are probably missing files on the server. Make sure to upload all files.

This usually indicated that the font files are missing on the server.
Maybe there were errors in the publish log?

Hello, I appreciate the input. Do you have any idea what the log file would be called? So I use Filezilla. So after I hit publish, everything shows up on the left side. Then you move all of that to the right side and it updates everything. The only thing that I've noticed it's different is that sometimes I have to specifically take images from the left side and put them in the image folder on the right side. Besides that everything else is working. Does anyone have any idea what the icon file is called?

In your case I think it would be helpful for you to set up publishing from within WWB to go directly to your web host, that way WWB will publish all files to the correct folders. There are times when you may find it easier to use FZ (I do as well) but generally having WWB take care of it for you is easier.

Do you have a link to your website so we can see what is missing?

up at the very top where it says book free appointment, in the black border there should be a white calendar icon. But as you can see, there's just an outline of a square. Do you know of any way to put a screenshot on this forum? Let me know if you can see it.

It looks like the icon font files are missing:
fa-brands-400.woff2
fa-regular-400.woff2
fa-solid-900.woff2
Make sure you upload all files.
There are also some issues with invalid filenames.

Hello, it looks like that work. I really have no idea why all of these images not moving over, and I'm having to add them to the image folder by hand. But it works.
I do have an additional question. I will go ahead and ask it here just in case you know. But if you want me to repost a additional question just let me know.
As you saw, I'm building a bridal website. I want to put about 500 bridal on the website in the most efficient way. Ideally I would like the customer to see the front view of the bridal gown and then be able to navigate like a carousel to the back view and a detailed view. I was wondering if you could give me a suggestion on what would be the best way to approach the project with that many photos. Also, when I've used the carousel, it seems that the navigation buttons get really far away from the photo to the left and the right on a desktop. On a mobile device the three dots get further away from the photo on the bottom. Is there a way to adjust that?

It looks like you are currently using the Photo Gallery, in that case you can also load the image from a folder on the server. Then you do not have to add them manually.
However, having this many images on a single page will make it slow and confusing. So, it may be better to break it up it smaller sections.
There is no automated way to create a carousel with back view and a detailed view. So, this needs to be done manually.
In a carousel, you can control the size and position of the controls in the 'Navigation' tab of the properties.

In case it helps to throw any light at all, I tried to use bootstrap icons on my site the other day, and had the same issue (yes, I had uploaded everything via the properties of the publish dialog). I ended up using Font Awesome icons instead.

All icon libraries the same way, so if one work then they should all work.

Should, yes, but in practice they don’t. I preferred the bootstrap icons, but they wouldn’t show on the published site. Not a deal breaker.

Should, yes, but in practice they don’t.
In that case, there must be a conflict somewhere.
Mayeb you did not publish all files?
Or maybe you can publish the icons as SVG instead of fonts?

I published all files. I always do.
But it's up to the OP of this thread to provide proof. I don't have time at the moment to do so.

Note that the issue was solved by uploading all files.

Yes, that was definitely the problem. Thank you so much for replying.
Do you or does anyone else know if there's a way to add what I would call a complex filter inside of a photo gallery? For example, I want to make a page of let's say 100 bridal gowns. However I want some type of filter button that the customer can select clicking a box that says a line, another one that says longsleeve and another one that says white and another one that says satin. After checking all of the boxes the photos would all change to any of those gowns matching criteria. Is there a, somewhat simple way of doing that on the web builder?

To be honest no...I doubt that the "Photo Gallery" could do this it wasn't really made for that. For this you would really need a "Bespoke" or "Custom" script to achieve this and with so many images on just one page it may be slow to load. Many moons ago this could have been done with the likes of flash but sadly those days are gone.

Have you thought about using an external shopping site and embedding it in your web site? Something like
https://squareup.com/gb/en/online-store can probably do what you want.

The photo gallery has a built-in filter. Maybe that will work for you?

Back in my WebPlus days, I seem to remember people integrating ECWID into their sites to create searchable image catalogues. It's a shopping cart, but I think I remember people using it just as a searchable database.

Yes, that is what I was thinking of too. Personally, I use Cogitoforms for any forms and Teamup for any calendars - just embed them into my site and job done. Adding an external shopping site is just as easy.
