Nah it not much..... it was asked for so I thought lets see what can be done with it, the only thing I dont like it the rss icon that the script uses it has a black square frame on it and spoils it and as it is hard coded in script I cant remove it I have left a comment to script writer regarding this will need to wait and see what happens about this.....

Bacon, I tried it and put my RSS feed URL but in preview it is showing the BBC News and Reuters News and not my feed!
This is my RSS feed : http://stfranciscollege.edu.in/generalnoticerss.xml

OOh ok, read the pdf....

we need to visit that link http://www.rsspump.com/Default.aspx
The point is, is the feed connected to that site and if that is down will it affect the feed display on our site?

Hi me from what I have gathered the script is connected to rsspump and if the site does go down it may stop working as this is what is controling the ticker to display the feed.... It works in a similar fashion to the addthis script this too is connected to the addthis server and if that went down then it too could stop working, this is something out of my control as it really is just a copy and paste widget script... as mentioned similar to addthis, google translate, etc sorry if this wasnt clear.....

I was trying to test this one and it worked ok. I set it to show the 4 most recent rss feed but when I updated my rss feed it did not reflect the new entries. I even tried to re-enter the url of the rss feed I want to show on the rsspump website but still would not show the most recent addition to the feed. What can be done to show newest updated feed?

It could be possible that you are seeing the older rss feed due to your brwser cache needing to be refreshed also from what I know about the extension, is when you insert your feed in rssdump you are using there resources to display the feed on your site other than that I cant say I will need to check this and let you know.

Thank you for your response. Actually I've taken into consideration flushing my browser cache and even using other browser to look at the same page and still "pumping" old stuff even if the rss feed have new entries. If at least there's an option on the service to check on scheduled interval an updated rss feed from the registered sites probably this will refresh the feed pumped with fresh info. It looks like the rssfeed was taken in once and used as the basis of the pump. At least in my case re-registering the site again although getting a new code didn't change the pumped info. I hope there is a way to sort this issue as this is a useful way to give heads up about updates on a particular site.

Appreciate your effort looking into this. Have a nice day BaconFries.

I was trying to look for some info about rsspump and how it works since the site doesn't seem to have faq about the service. I happened to chance upon a similar service and have mentioned that cached rssfeed are cache for about 60 minutes and if a new rssfeed is added it'll take an hour for it to reflect the new changes. I guess rsspump does this caching as well but the interval might be different.

I guess I was a little impatient expecting my chnages to take effect right away.

BF;

This is great for what I want to do. However I have one problem. I am using my Twitter as an option. In the settings I have told it I don't want Title but after pasting the code form RSSPump, it has the title even though the value is 0. Any ideas?

Cheers.

Hi I installed the extension but cant seem to duplicate what you mantion...what I did notice is rsspump have added the twitter to the dropdown list since I built the extension I cant say if this is having any effect as I dont have a twitter account to test with and apart from that I dont see anychange in the source code outputted when you use the twitter feed instead of normal rss feed...so I cant really say why this is happening sorry.... :(
