Conveyerbox Extension ***Update27/04/10***

Post by BaconFries »

***Extension Removed***
Due to not having the time to fully debug this extension and find out why it wasnt saving the correct paths for the images and replacing with another I have taken the decision just to fully remove it...if you have downloaded this extension guys and dolls and have been using it I apoligise that it is no longer available...i would also suggest that if you are using it in a project please make sure you have a backup of for future use in the project..

BF :(

@Support/Eddy if you feel you have to remove this then I have no objections to it being removed...

It is showing as "Conveyer Belt Box"
-there is no auto scrolling
-When I took the mouse closer to it, then it scrolled all the way right or left
-Pictures are sized to the size of the ext (100X100)
-Pictures when clicked produces the lovely Lightbox effect.
If developed, can be a beautiful extension

No offense,but, I wonder why everyone is developing Image viewer extensions!!! We already have so many such extns provided by Pablo. Why not work on something different....like php implications and use (now dont ask me what....something like forms, shoutbox with captcha,chat etc)
Just a suggestion ....now now all the extension developers dont run for my throat! :wink: :lol:

One thing you have to keep in mind that the EX Builder is NOT the full blown kit so, We have to work within what it offers, It is easy to say "Add this, add that..." but we can only do so much at the moment. We have to see what pablo brings out on the next version of EXB... :?

I fully agree and appreciate the efforts. My comments was only for the improvement. I am technically not well versed hence I was unaware of the limitations.
Thats why I had added this at the end of my post----

How come text put on a page with this conveyorbelt on it is NOT displayed?
I like the extension but I miss the opportunity to add some explanatory text.

As far as I am aware you can add text or a description to the image/photograph used when you add the images you wish to use you simply highlight each image in Images/General/Title/ in were it gives image ie pic1.jpg change this to your text/ description and it will get added and when the thumbnail is clicked to view you will see the added text/description in the expaned image/lightbox

I don't want to add text to foto's bit to the PAGE itself, like POINT YOUR MOUSE TO A PICTURE AND CLICK TO ENLARGE. This text does not appear on the page!

To make it more clear what I mean please go to http://www.chaletcastellani.com/eric/ . and http://www.chaletcastellani.com/eric/textonpage.pdf. This page shows how it looks in WYSIWYG. How come?

OK I think what your asking for is what is called a ALT tag this is small piece of text only appears when you place mouse over the desired image is this what you are asking?. If so I will take a look at the code see if I can add this. I will let you know if it is possible and WHEN it will be added.
Please note that I do this as a EXTRA for users and it is provided "AS IS" but I will always try to fix what I do If it is possible.

I did answer your other posting and i think there is a conflict in the javascript codes.
There is no way to solve this or you have to put al js files in folders and change the path to the files in the html code.

But you can use events to make hovers for tekst.

Hi ExtensionBuilders.

When implementing the alt tag for the image viewers you should also implement the title tag.
FF doesn't show the alt tag but does show the title

Thanks for pointing this out haakoo but this is already implemented in this script... I use what is in the original script and if needed alway add the "title" if it is missing as is it needed in FF see below for snippet from original script. To show the alt when mouseover image you need to set the descriiption in the extension for it to show and change the title to suit your own needs again thanks
<div style="width:$width1$px;text-align:center;">
<a onclick="return false;" href="javascript:moveleft();" onmouseover="move('left');">
<img alt="Left Arrrow" title="Scroll Images Left" src="$left$" border="0"></a>

No problems.... :D I always like to be pointed in the right direction if I have missed or can add anything to make the script/extension better for all users so to use it cool to be told if right or wrong infact you have just brought something to mind that I will implement in variables so users can add there own description or language in the "alt" "title"for the left, right, stop buttons as these are in english and I am sure not all will want to use english in these tags.....so thanks :D :idea:
