Some images blank in Workspace

Post by pebbyb »

Hi,
Since I upgraded from WWB14.4 to WWB15.1 (32-bit) I have discovered a problem with some, but not all, images not showing in the Workspace. They still appear though when Previewed and Published. From the testing I have done it appears that the length of the images in pixels is the problem. I have 4 images on 4 different pages that are between 2500 and 6000 px long. If I crop these down to 2048 px they show in the workspace, at 2049 px they don't. Changing the image size in kb/mb makes no difference. All the image handles are there except the contents of the image.
Is this something I've missed in the v15.1 settings or is it something a WWB update would be required?

To be able to help you, I need a demo project so I can see all the settings.
I do not need the complete project, just one page with the image.

- upload the project to your web server or another public server

Is your workspace set at 2048?

Hopefully you will find one of the pages and its image at this link;

You should also be able to see it at www.badmintonbraintree.org.uk/PW_Mens.html

I have downloaded the image, but it works for me.
What do I need to do to see the problem?

Note that there are a few mistakes in the page properties:
- The document is set to 'none', this should be HTML5
- IE-Emulate should be set to 'None'
- Character-set should be set the "UTF-8'

Thanks, I've updated the page properties as you suggest but it makes no difference, the image is still blank in the workspace, although it still shows under both Preview and Publish. Is there any other page setting in WWB15.1 that limits the image length to a maximum of 2048 px?

The image is render by Windows (direct2d), the sofwtar just tells the system where to render it.
So, it may be some limitation in your system.
Do you have Windows 10?

In that case, maybe the image takes up too much memory for 32bit.

I had no problem with it in WWB 14.4 on the same computer and operating system.

WB15 uses Direct2D (hardware acceleration), WB14 uses GDI.
But like I said, it works for me. So, I am not sure if there is anything I can do about this.
I think the best way to solve this is to break the image up into multiple smaller images.

As it works for you, I will install WWB 15.1 and the Project on another of my computers running the same OS and see what happens to the image.
I'll post back with the results in a couple of days.
Thanks for your help.
