Malwarebytes is flagging wysiwyg .exe and associated files as ransomware

Post by waynethetodd »

Hey guys, My latest Malware Bytes scan showed my WB executable as ransomware along with a few other files associated with WB14. We've also had some malware issues on our server recently. Are these things related? What can I do to fix this? I don't want to have to quarantine my WB14 executable because I paid for it...

There is no virus in WYSIWYG Web Builder (and there never was). This is a false positive. A bug in your anti virus software.
To solve the problem either add webbuilder to the exception list or contact the makers of the virus scanner and ask for an update.
Are these things related?
No!

The software is virus free, according to more than 70 antivirus scanners:

Thanks for the quick response. Just needed clarification since the most popular anti virus software in existence was flagging the software!

Well, 70 other anti virus software applications seem to disagree...

See Pablos link and one of the 70 is Malwarebytes that says it's safe.

The best antivirus/antimaleware for Windows 10 is "Windows Defender" Have used only this since Windows 10 was released. If you have more protection softwares installed it get harder to maintenance… only my opinion :D
