Recaptcha v2

Post by Billywiz »

On my guestbook page Link Removed all is ok using the Advanced Captcha but if I choose Recaptcha v2 the whole of the form disappears from the page. Now if I take the captcha completely off the page and place a Recaptcha v2 outside the form within minutes of uploading the page I get numerous spam messages.
What I would like is to have the Recaptcha v2 within the form but then there is the problem of the form not appearing, does anyone else have this problem.

Cheers

Maybe you did not upload all files?

Note that there is no support of (free) extensions, however this extension has been extensively tested and it does not have any known issues.

Definitely all files have been uploaded, I have tried many times without success.
I realise there is no support, that's why I posted in the Off Topic Section in case anyone else had the same problem.

I can only think of two reasons why Recaptcha will not work.
- not all files have been published ReCaptcha.php, RequestMethod.php, Post.php, Socket.php etc
- there is an error in the configuration, but normally recapch will display an error message if that is the case

Thanks Pablo, I finally got it to work.
I uploaded a folder gbooktest with all the relevant files and all was OK, I then renamed the folder already on my site
to gbookxxx from gbook then renamed gbooktest to gbook and all is now ok.
What I think caused the conflict was the verdana.ttf file that I always left in the folder because of its size, this is used if advanced captcha is used so when I used Recaptcha v2 there must have been some sort of conflict somewhere.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction with file problems.

Since changing the captcha from Advanced to Recaptcha v2 I have been inundated with Spam, especially from Russia.
Can anyone confirm that there may be a security lapse in V2, I never had any spam if I chose the Advanced option.
This morning I had 20 posts all from the same address even though I had deleted and banned the IP from this session and previous posts.
