Anyone else facing uploading connection problem?

Post by me.prosenjeet » Tue Jun 06, 2017 7:46 am

I am using WB 12.05 (latest) and since yesterday I am facing this upload issue from Wb

FTP Engine used: wininet (connection getting disrupted without uploading)
FTP Engine used: winsock (getting very slow upload speed)

I contacted my host Hostgator...they say there is no issue on their side...

Its either Internet Exception Error 12003 or 12002
One of the logs had the following line (if it helps) "425 Could not open data connection to port 53652: Connection timed out"

If it suddenly started then it's not directly related to the application. Also if both FTP engines fail then it is very unlikely that is it a software related problem.
Maybe you have updated your firewall, virusscanner or Internet modem?
If not, then it is usually a webhost related issue.

Funny part is when I have set "Connection Time Out" to 6000 still I am getting disconnected in 5 secs with the error message "12002"

No problem here. Uploaded to several providers. Everything as smooth as always.

Certainly it is not directly related to WB.
That is the reason I posted it under category "Off Topic Section" :D

Are you having the same issues if you try connecting using a 3rd party FTP like Filezilla?

I tried disabling/enabling Windows Firewall, no effect...
I tried disabling/enabling my Quick Heal Total Security (including its firewall), no effect.

I uninstalled WB12.0.5 restarted my PC and reinstalled it, now uploading works fine!

Wonder what was wrong

All is well that ends well :D

Reinstalling the software will not change the behavior of publishing.
I think something else was wrong, this was most likely just a temporary issue with your host.

Even I agree with that Pablo....

But all is well and I am happy about that. :D

Pablo, any thoughts about redesigning the 'paypal mini add to cart' extension with the update I had requested for in an email sent to you earlier?

I'm sorry, I am currently busy with other projects so I did not have time to look at this.
Note that this may take a while. There are many other suggestions pending...

I am using Web builder 9. I have done this happily for over three years. This month my Publish uploads suddenly stopped working. I get a 550 error message saying "cannot find files". My web host has done extensive checks and says my FTP is working fine. I am not going through a firewall. I am not an expert and I am stumped. I have been advised to download a program called "Filezilla". Is there a fix for my problem? Would "Filezilla" be a solution if no fix is available?

Did you try both FTP engines? If they both fail then it is very unlikely that is it a software related problem.
Do you get a different error when you select 'winsock'?
Maybe you have updated your firewall, virusscanner or Internet modem?
If not, then it is usually a webhost related issue.

I get same error message with both FTP options.
My webhost says problem not at their end and have tried to be helpful troubleshooting over several days.
I am currently checking with my Firewall hosts re any changes there. No reply yet.
Virus scanner and internet modem remain unchanged.
Would up grading to W12 offer any solution?

I do not think this has anything to do with the application, so upgrading will not make any difference.

Please set the ftp engine to 'winsock', then republish and include the complete publish log in your post.

OK - I did as you suggested. Here is the log which I had to copy in Word as the save log to clipboard command did not work. Hope it can help pinpoint the problem.
