Strange behavior when using https:

Hi,
I have used WYSIWYG Web Builder in many years. To day I saw a strange problem using Google Chrome on a website I have made. It looks total different if I use http or https connection. I hope You can give mee an answer why, because there is no problems when using eg. firefox.

I have a flexboks on the page with this setup: http://poulrasmussen.artsydfyn.dk/ScreenShot108.jpg

The page is https://poulrasmussen.artsydfyn.dk and http://poulrasmussen.artsydfyn.dk

best regards,
Per

First note that this nothing to do with WYSIWYG Web Builder.
If there is a difference then it's usually a server related issue.

However when I view the URLs in Chrome, they look the same to me.
So, maybe it's related to the cache of the browser?

look the same for me too.

I am deleting the history and cookies every time before I load the page - so that is not the problem.

Is there a way to compare two projects?

I have another website at https://amjohansen.dk

There are no problems at this page, - looking for a smarts way to compare theese two sites to find the reason why google chrome are making wrong when using https at poulrasmussen.artsydfyn.dk and not at https://amjohansen.dk

The problem is not related to the project, it is unrelated to the application.
This is most likely a server configuration issue. Although I do not see the problem myself.

I never said that the problem is in webbuilder, but I asked: Is there a way to compare two projects?

I'm sorry there is no way to compare two projects.
But I do not think that will be helpful because the problem is not related to the project.

The problem was breakpoints!

I have a site without breakpoints - https://ullaellyton.artsydfyn.dk/ - no problems if You use http or https and Google Chrome.

But if I only have breakpoints 320, 480 and 768 then there is problems with Google Chrome if You are using a screen 1920 x 1080

After setting up a breakpoint 1920, then there was no more problems !!!!

Is it a problem related to the project or to Google Chrome ?

I can't bear to discuss it - it has never been my goal. I just wanted help finding a solution to my problem.

I hope others can benefit from my discovery.

I really do not think this is directly related to breakpoints. But it may be related to file names.

For example, the name of the image

Code: Select all

Screen Shot 02-16-15 at 2002.47 PM.JPG
is not valid. This may confuse the browser.

I am not sure You are right.

The picture You are talking about is on a site with no problems

I was talking about 3 webpage, with 2 pictures on each.

amjohansen.dk has a picture named obj3geo3p499.jpg and obj4geo4p499.jpg (problems - I think missing breakpoint 1920)

poulrasmussen.artsydfyn.dh has a picture named obj3geo3pg1p499.jpg and obj7geo7pg1p499.jpg (problems - I think missing breakpoint 1920)

ullaellyton.artsydfyn.dk has a picture named header.jpg and Screen Shot 02-16-15 at 02.47 PM.JPG (But no problems on this site - not at all - and none breakpoints ! ).

I have used Your software since Wysiwyg 10. I have the manual printed, I like it, but I still find the program
overwhelming and with a steep learning curve. - Ex. worked with a header that would not fil out the screen horisontally. After long time I found out that the Site properties had an "align to left" and not "do not center this page".

I did not make up these naming conventions. A browser (or web server) may see a white space as the end of the filename.
In many cases the browser will ignore the mistake, but sometimes it may screw up the whole layout.
This has nothing to do with the application, that is just how HTML works.
So, please makes sure all your images names are valid.
This is also true for other names, like IDs, styles etc.

Hi BaconFries

I wonder if You could explain the resason why http://amjohansen.dk look different from https://amjohansen.dk in Google Chrome

For me, both URLs display the exact same page in Chrome.

There is no difference for me either....and there shouldn't be as long as you have 1 index page and you have your .htaccess file set up correctly to handle http: and https:

Just as Pablo and crispy I see no difference in either urls apart from one is using https and the other isn't. See tje screenshots. Maybe you yourself could take screenshots to show what you are seeing.

https://ibb.co/80WWtSK

And so If i used https:
https://ibb.co/27b7Lj6

They look OK if I used the Preview button:

Thanks to everyone for giving your time to answer my question. It gives me peace of mind that it works
