In order for BF's response to make sense, you have to understand what creating a breakpoint does. A breakpoint will create a media query. These media queries control what CSS layout will be used.

By default breakpoints will be triggered if width of the browser window is the same or smaller than the defined breakpoint. For example, lets say you have a BP at 1024px and 768px. If the device width is between 1024px and 769px, it will see the 1024px BP. If the device width is 768px or less, it will see the 768BP. The key is same 'width or smaller until the next smaller BP'.

If you check 'include min-width in CSS3 media queries', then the breakpoint will be triggered if width of the browser window is the same or larger than the current breakpoint and smaller than the next breakpoint. So, using the example above, if the device has a width 1024px or larger, it will see the 1024 BP. If the device width is equal or greater than 768px but less than 1024px, it will see the 768 BP. The key here is 'same or larger but less than the next BP'.

From the url I gave it should have explained what you asked...but crispy has added to this..thanks crispy

You can also enable 'Include min-width' in 'Manage Breakpoints', so the browser will break on the page size instead of viewport.

See also the next question...

When do I use 'Include min-width in CSS3 media queries'?

Note: This option in available in the Manage Breakpoints window.
This option changes the way breakpoints behave in the browser. By default breakpoints will be triggered if width of the browser window is the same or smaller than the defined breakpoint.

If Include 'min-width' in CSS3 media queries is enabled then breakpoint will be triggered if width of the browser window is the same or larger than the current breakpoint and smaller than the next breakpoint.

This can be useful if you want to to center the layout if the screen width is wider then the current breakpoint.

The following urls will hopefully explain the use of media queries and breakpoints used in todays web design.

It's like I'm asking how to cure malaria and your giving me a auto repair manual. I get breakpoints and do use the 'Include min-width' setting. None of those will stop a browser from going smaller then say a 320 width. I cannot find it now but one of the sites I was on while searching for design ideas stopped the browser window from going below a 320 ish width. 99% of the pages can be pulled down to say 50 width. If I could find that page again it would make sense to you when you compared it to other pages. I thought I made it clear in the question video but I guess the question was only clear to me. How do you physically stop a browser window from getting smaller then say a 320 width. I'm just not seeing it in any of the info provided on how to do that. The answer may be "it cannot be done" except I saw it done. Rich

I'm sorry, I do not know a way to stop a browser from going smaller then say a 320 width.

Note however that normally users do not resize the browser window when they are visiting your website.
And even when it is possible then it is not standard browser behavior so users may get confused if they cannot resize the browser window.
Also, on mobile devices (which I assume the 320 breakpoints is for), the viewport/browser size cannot be controlled by the user.

I think this is just the standard minimum size of the browser. it is not controlled by the page/html.

Correct. Browser related limitation, not page build setting. Rich
