Grid Stacking

Post by gofrank » Mon Jun 18, 2018 7:31 pm

Is it "legal" to place a layout grid inside a flex grid?

I've tried this and it appears to work. But when I select a cell in the flex grid that contains a layout grid and give flex grid cell a 3px black border, the border setting is also applied to text objects inside the layout grid. This made me wonder if I'm exceeding the design limits by placing one grid inside the other. I thought I read where it is possible to go one "level" deep doing this, but could be mistaken about that.

I do not recommend to mix different layout methods on the page.
The layout grid and/or flex grid may inherit properties from its parent which can lead to unexpected behavior.
It's better to use one method for the entire page.
