FlexGrid

Post by SusanC » Sat Jun 09, 2018 12:04 am

I saw a video that used all flexgrids to build a responsive website, and another for using master frames. Is it possible to combine these so that I can use the same headings etc on each page and it is still responsive?

Here is an example of a responsive layout using master pages:

I'm creating all my site with flexgrid, its a joy, it gives me flexblity to design my pages the way i want in a responsive layout. As for Masterpage, I could only use it for Header, it's not possible to use it for Sidebar or Footer of the pages, since a flex is put on a row, first available row. I sure wished there was a way to make it possible.

Did you try to use a master page and flexgrid?

Are you with me Pablo? Yes, I just use a two-rows Flexgrid on my masterpage which contains my logo and menu which are displayed on all other pages. The other pages contains only content and footer. For footer or sidebar, I copy paste from other pages to any new page.

No problem, I was just saying there is no way to add a footer inside a flex box in the Master page and that flex box become the footer of all other pages, because a flex box (container or grid) will get the first available row in the page, its not possible to make a flex as Footer, because it goes up in other pages.

Master pages only support 'real' footers, created with the 'Page footer' object.
Because there is no way for the software to know that you have used another object type (like a flexgrid) as a footer and therefor it cannot control its position automatically.
