*SOLVED* Responsive Menu widening some pages but not others

Post by etcbbu » Fri Mar 16, 2018 4:26 pm

Please look at all of this from a Mobile-browser, or at least, a browser window of 320-pixels, because it is at my 320-Width Breakpoint that I am seeing this happen:

Notice how everything looks fine if you look at these two pages:

http://s729539929.onlinehome.us/index.php
http://s729539929.onlinehome.us/gallery.php

You do not have the ability to "pan right" or "scroll right" beyond the content of the page, as if there is a not-Visible object that's back-loading and causing the page-width to artificially be bigger.

But if you look at almost any of the other pages on the website, like, say,

http://s729539929.onlinehome.us/cartsales.php

The Responsive Menu at the top of the page seems to have a larger width, or something, somehow, for some reason; which, I believe, in turn is causing the ability to "pan right" or "scroll right" beyond the content of the page, as if there is a not-Visible object that's back-loading and causing the page-width to artificially be bigger.

I'm using the same "Page Header" object on every page of this website, and the only child-object in that "Page Header" is a "Master Object" which calls a masterpage that I have just that Responsive Menu on. So I don't know why it would be doing this on different pages when they're all calling the same menu in the same way..?

Does the page have the same breakpoints as the master page?

Yes, every page on the website has a Default, 970-width breakpoint and also a 320-width breakpoint, including all of the masterpages.

Here is a screenshot of that "masterpage6" , which holds the Responsive Menu:

The only other thing I can think that is different is that the Homepage is constructed with non-Floating Layers, while the rest of the pages of the website *are* constructed with Floating Layers. *BUT*, the "Cart Sales" page, at www.thecartshed.com/cartsales.php , is functioning just fine and not having the little scrollable-space out to the right, it's constructed with Floating Layers.

Would it be helpful for you to see my .WBS file?

Well, think I figured out a solution. On the "Custom Carts" and "New Carts" pages, http://thecartshed.com/customcarts.php and http://thecartshed.com/newcarts.php , I went ahead and just gave every object on the page a new "Object ID" that sort of falls into the nomenclature of that page, and relative to all of the rest of the Objects within that page in WB. Then I published those two pages. Now, when I visit them on a Mobile device, seems like it's not doing the scroll-right thing anymore. So, looks like I may have found the fix. I'll just do this on the rest of the pages of the site.

Thanks! :D :D :D WB RULES! :D :D :D

I've still got *ONE* page that's doing this. Can someone visit this page on a smartphone:

http://thecartshed.com/batteries.php

And maybe help me figure out what object is causing the page to be able to load more than just a 320-pixel width and let me scroll right?

I do not see any issues with this page.

However, but here is a suggestion:
remove objects from the page one by one until you found that one that is accusing project.

thecartshedbatteriesimage9

Was a ghost-object, somehow. Deleted it. All appears to be well!

I like that menu. How do you obtain that?

@wmyatt : Look on the left-side of your screen where all of your tools/objects are. Look for the heading entitled "Navigation". The name of the tool is "Responsive Menu".
