Problem with Layout Grid

Post by petejos » Fri Jul 14, 2017 12:43 am

Hi Pablo,

I just upgraded to the latest version and I have the following issues:

1. When I add columns into my layout grid on my default page, it doesn't add to the other breakpoint pages
2. When I click on the page property, I cant see the miscellaneous tab.
3. Also, the alignment of the breakpoint 320 is out off alignment after the update.

Are there any known issues with the new update? Please advise asap.

1. In WB12 each breakpoint can have a different number of columns.
This is not an issue, but a feature. You can adjust the number of columns in each breakpoint.

2. It seems to work correct for me. No one else has reported any problems with this. Can you please be more specific?

3. Which alignment are you referring to?

Are you using the latest update? This version has no known issues. All reported issues have been fixed in 12.1

1. I have same contents for all breakpoints. When I am adding additional columns to the default, I want the same go across to all the breakpoints. I find that it is very inconvenience to have to add the column at individual breakpoints.

2. I just can't see the miscellaneous tab on the page property. (General, style and meta tag tabs) are visible.

3. I created my breakpoints with previous version. I have a image which is centred in breakpoints 320. However, after the upgrade, the image being shifted to the right. I tried to correct it but the WB just hang whenever I tried to shift it.

Yes, I have upgraded to the latest version.

1. If you create a new layout grid in the default view then it will be the same in all breakpoints.
If you make changes in a breakpoint then they will only apply to that breakpoint.
2. Do you have the latest (English) version?
3. To be able to help you I need to see what you have done, Please share your project.
Note that I am currently on Holiday so I cannot check it immediately.

Yes, I have the latest English version 12.1 downloaded from your website.

I tested by creating a brand new page with multiple columns of layout grid. For example 4 columns from the default page, but it has only 2 columns in the breakpoints.

The default is always 2 columns.
So if you add the layout grid after adding breakpoints then there will be 2 columns.
If you add the breakpoints after the layout grid then all breakpoints wil have the same number of columns.

Does that mean that I cannot add more columns to the existing layout grid after adding the breakpoints? Which I can do it at the previous version.

No, it means that you can specify a different number of columns in each breakpoint, unlike the previous version.
So you have can have the same or a different number of columns.

Thanks Pablo. However, I have 5 breakpoints in my project. Meaning if I have to add a column to one of my layout grid then i have to repeat the adding process in every breakpoints?

Yes, you will have to adjust the columns in each breakpoint.
But why are you using so many breakpoints with layoutgrids?

When using layout grids you using only need one (or maybe two) breakpoint. Most of the content floats automatically.

It depends on your layout. I often use 480, but also 768.
