[rz] Block Framework *** UPD 2017-Oct-19 ***

Post by [RZ] »

[rz] Block Framework v1.0

This extreme lightweight yet powerful extension allows you to embed multiple objects (usually masterobjects or layers) within an adaptive single element/framework, like a mosaic, with advanced resize/group options.
The final element is a pixel-perfect/full-width/resizable-height framework that fits the browser width or the width of the context which the instance has been placed in (a layer, a masterobjects -formerly masterpage- or even the [rz] Adaptive Framework).
Sample project included.

Some features:

- Support for mixed RWD and fluid schemes.
- Multidirectional with several advanced alignments.
- Groups, breaks and breakpoint.
- Dockable "post-object", resizable and movable (controlled from the extension).
- Blocks can have any size, expandable and fixed (controlled from the extension).
- Pixel perfect resize and space between elements.
- Advanced spacing around elements and container.
- Colors, shadow, opacity level and pattern support.
- Virtually unlimited objects embedding.
- Maximum cross-browser and backward compatibility.
- Lightweight, no jQuery required, no dependencies.

...and more!

DEMO

HTML 4.01 Transitional
W3C compliant

* New in version 1.1

- Extended expand modes to allow generic or breakpoint-specific element expansion or to preserve the original element size.
- Workaround for a refresh issue on some (slow) mobile devices using an expandable 'post-object'.
- Minor code improvements.

Having worked with a BETA version of this extension, it is fair to say this is a new & welcome move in the web design style. It is very versatile and extremely easy to use and despite its simplicity, it handles very complex design scenarios and if like me you work with layers, this is the tool. To understand how it works, see its demo or read the description. Well done RZ for sticking with it and finishing it off. :D
