Help Page size

Sorry I am not at all a specialist, my questions are probably obvious for many,

I dont know how to manage page size.

My purpose is to provide a web site for my association, with a simple home page. But I can't find the way to build the good size so that anyone can get this page with a smartphone or pc windows without using horizontal scroll.
I see there is an item "defined by user" but it can't help and my pages still have not a "standard" size according user resolution or platform

Mon but est de créer une page d'accueil pour mon association mais je n'arrive pas à construire une page qui puisse être lue sur n'importe quelle plateforme ou appareil, smartphone ou pc. J'ai toujours une page avec des scrolls, sur l'horizontale. Je vois bien une option taille définie par l'utilisateur mais je ne sais pas comment l'utiliser .

Look on the internet for responsive or adaptive web sites, learn about break points and all will become clear. There are a load of free templates which you can use with this software to help you understand it and make a start.
