*SOLVED* Want a text object to fly in from left *SOLVED*

Post by etcbbu »

Hi all, I'd like a simple Text object to fly in from the left-side of the screen, and just sit there. But I'm having problems causing this to happen with either "Events" or "Animations". What's the best way to accomplish just that simple task? I just want it such that when user scrolls to when the text is in the viewport, it flies in from the Left, and just stays there static forever. No "leaving the screen", or doin anything else. Just fly in from the left. I'm trying to look at this project file to look at some of the objects on the bottom of the page that fly in from "down" or "bottom":

http://www.wysiwygwebbuilder.com/suppor ... books.html

located here:

http://www.wysiwygwebbuilder.com/templates/books.zip

but once I get the project file on my hard-drive, I'm getting an error pop up, saying something about "Unsupported format, this file was opened with a newer version of WB". That happens when I try to open it with WB 16 or WB 12, either way.

Looking at it and trying it out, now. And I must say, I am super grateful you have created all of these as a way for people like me to have shortcuts into using the previously-able Transitions/Effects/Animations.

But, of course, I'm not smart enough to figure it out even with the really good instructions on the https://www.wysiwygwebbuilder.com/motion_effects.html page you gave me.

Here are two screenshots of the "Scroll Horizontal" options, and the "Entrance Animations" I am enabling, to attempt to get this thing to fly in from the left-side of the page, as I scroll down the page:

https://ktravisj.com/scrnflyin2.png

But let me also ask this--am I supposed to have the Text Object "Hidden", on page-load? Like, do I need to Un-Tick the "Visible" box in the "Object Manager" under "Visible", so that the object is invisible by default, and the effects I (am trying to) set on it cause it to show up/be visible?

And yes, I tried different values besides just -100 and 100 you see, there. I was trying different values like -100 to 200 , or maybe 300 to 400. I tried different numbers in there, on various of the "Anchor offset", "Start", "Stop", "Value"...randomly trying different numbers so that I could demonstrate to myself which values cause which action. And just couldn't hardly ever get *any* activity to happen. At *one* point, it looks like the "400" value I put, somewhere, was at least causing the text-object to sit on the 400-pixel-mark on the page, but I just am having trouble understanding what value needs to go where; which values/input-boxes are gonna dictate which movement, etc.

No, this will be done automatically.

Did you you add enough content to the page so offsets can be triggered?

You can download my demo project here:

You mean like, say, enough content on the page to go down the page far enough, such that user actually has to scroll?

Ok, originally I was trying to do this on about the 400-Pixel-Y-Axis point in the page, so yeah, that is pretty high up.

So I added a few place-holder Layer objects, with just some text objects sitting as children in those Layers, and got down to about the 3500-or-4000-Pixel-Y-Axis point in the page, and the text is still not doing anything. Like. Isn't even on the page, when I have the settings like this:

Ok. Now *this* is crazy.

NOW my element that I had towards the top of the page is actually flying in like I want--but only on a 320-Breakpoint browser when I am looking at the page on my smartphone, and it's not seemingly to do it on my 1024 pixel breakpoint on a laptop. Any ideas as to how Breakpoints or mobile view or something may be affecting this stuff, here..?

Pablo,

Yes, it is here:

[link removed]
(it is the textboxes on the " index.php " page; namely objects called "thisbizindexText5" and "thisbizindexText6" that I am trying to get to fly in )

Can you please let me know that you got it, or just simply remove this URL ^ from this board, after you have the file?

There is an error with the particles script which prevents all other scripts form running .

Also, do not use scroll effects and entrance animation at the same time. Try to do one thing at a time.

Haha, darn it..now I gotta choose between text transitions and the Particles Extension. I really like that Extension.

Thank you for taking the look!

Ok, I am sorry to keep being difficult, but now I am seeing that whenever I load the page in browser on a Laptop, the 768-Breakpoint and 320-Breakpoint are, in fact, having my two desired Text objects "Slide in Left" like I want. Looks great on those two Breakpoints. But on the default 1366-Width Breakpoint and the 1024-Width Breakpoint, they are just completely not loading in any way. What could be causing that..? It is, for sure, the same two Textboxes, and both objects, across all 4 Breakpoints, and they are both marked "Visible" (that is, they are not "UNchecked on the "Visible" box) . These two Text Objects are just nowhere to be found whenever I load the page on a 1366 or 1024 sized browser-window. But then, when I re-size the Browser window to those previously-mentioned smaller Breakpoints--the 768-Width and 320-Width--they "Fly In" great! I have followed your advice, and completely unchecked the "Scroll Horizontal" Motion Effects, so, none of those are checked on either of these two Text objects I want to Slide in from Left. I'm just leaving on the "Slide in Left" Entrance Animation on both of them.

See what I mean? If you load it up in a 768 or 320 window, they do great.

But if you load them in 1366 and 1024--nothing.

Project file is here:

The problem is related to the parallax tiles extension. This extension takes over the scroll events of the page, so scroll animations will be disabled.
