Editable content admin, summernote not showing font options etc
Hi
I'm just getting started with editable content.
I downloaded the summernote addon and installed this on my PC.
I've created a page with an "Editable content admin" object.
When I publish this I get an editable text area and can change the text. However I dont see any extra options like font options, layout etc.
Is there some part of the instal I've missed? Any options I need to set?

Re: Editable content admin, summernote not showing font options etc
You can customize the editor via the 'Editor Settings' property.
The available options are documented here:
https://summernote.org/deep-dive/#customization
Note that this functionality is for advanced users.

Re: Editable content admin, summernote not showing font options etc
Many thanks, I did get Summernote working, however gone back to wwbeditor as that does what I want out the box!
Re: Editable content admin, summernote not showing font options etc
This extension sounds perfect for a requirement I have - ie to have a bulletin board area that one person is allowed to edit online.
However, I can't find the extension to download - help please.
Sorry if I am being 'thick'

Re: Editable content admin, summernote not showing font options etc
Thanks Pablo,
The 2x Editable content extensions do not appear in my Content Management System section of my Toolbox. I've checked that my version of WWB is up to date and searched for the extensions in the Extensions Manager but still can't find the Editable Content extensions to either download or to use.
Can you direct me to where I can get the extensions?

Re: Editable content admin, summernote not showing font options etc
Editable content is not an extension. These are standard tools in WB16.
Re: Editable content admin, summernote not showing font options etc
I understand.
My problem is that they do not appear in my toolbox, so I need to install them.
I understand how to install manually but I don't know where to find them.
Can you give me the link to find them - I can then download and install them into WWB?
Thanks for your help

Re: Editable content admin, summernote not showing font options etc
You do not have to install anything.
But you may have enabled 'Easy Mode' which will hide advanced options.

Re: Editable content admin, summernote not showing font options etc
I thought that might be the answer, but afraid not!
I've toggled the Easy Mode several times but it makes no difference.
I also tried on an old laptop running Windows 8 thinking it may be to do with Windows 10 but I get the same - no Editable Content options.
I then go out a new laptop running Windows 10 and to my surprise, the Editable Content buttons appear!!
I don't understand what's going on.
Any ideas please?

Re: Editable content admin, summernote not showing font options etc
If you are using the Menu/Toolbar User Interface then it's - Insert > Content Management > Edible Content / Editable Content Admin?
Re: Editable content admin, summernote not showing font options etc
Maybee you have customized the toolbox?
In that case, right click the toolbox and select 'Reset toolbox'

Re: Editable content admin, summernote not showing font options etc
YES! Thanks WWBman. Found it under the MENU/Toolbar > CMS
Also YES! Thanks Pablo. Resetting the toolbar fixed it - can now see the Editable Content options under the CMS heading. Don't remember customizing the toolbar other than downloading tools, extensions, etc.
Thank you both for helping out a poor boy trying to learn!

Re: Editable content admin, summernote not showing font options etc
I just now need to work out how to use this functionality.
I'm about to create a community website which will have about 30 pages - one for each of the local villages around the area.
I need to have a kind of bulletin board on each page for the village to post news, events, activities etc. Only one person from each village will have access to add, update and edit the content.
Will the Editable Content feature work for this - can I have more than one Editable Content feature in a website and do I give them all unique names?

Re: Editable content admin, summernote not showing font options etc
Yes, it should be fine.
You can have more than one Editable Content object on a page.
Each of your pages can have Editable Content.
The Admin object (for each Content page) can be on the same page or a different page to the Content.
You could have a link to the Admin page on the Content page or just give the Admin page's url to whoever will use it.
The Admin uses the Content object's ID to identify each Content so you could give each Content object a more meaningful name if you want.

Re: Editable content admin, summernote not showing font options etc
I worked on setting up 'Editable Content' pages on my website over the weekend.
To reiterate my requirement: I'm setting up a website for villages in my area - there will be about 12 villages, each with it's own Notice Board page and each with it's own sign in password. Each village will have their own Administrator who will maintain the content of their notice board. The Administrators must not be able to access each others admin pages or edit each others content.
I created a Village directory page listing all the villages with links to each village's bulletin board page as a starting point for users - see https://tringconnections.org.uk/villages.php
I set up the first 'content' page and 'admin' page for Aldbury village and they seem to work perfectly and do exactly what I need - click on Aldbury in the link above. You will see the Aldbury notice board with some sample content. I have put a link to the 'Admisistrator' page at the bottom (scroll down) to go to the admin page. On the admin page I have put a button to 'View Results'. This all works great!
However, when I set up the second 'content' and 'admin' pages for Cheddington village, unexpected things started to happen!
1- all the content pages are shown in the admin page (note: I also have a Testing page set up)
2- it appears that the 'admin' page is common to all 'content' pages; so I can't set a different password for each village which means that I can't isolate each villages logon/password.
My question: is there a way to separate the 'admin' page as a 'common' page and have an individual 'admin' page attached to each 'content' page?
Can provide WWB files if required.
If not: does anyone know of another way to achieve individual notice page with their own admin/logon pages?
Thanks for any help available.

Re: Editable content admin, summernote not showing font options etc
'Editable Content' does not allow different passwords for different pages. This feature was designed for one admin.
But you can use the CMS tools in combination with the login tools to create a multi-page, multi-user environment.

Re: Editable content admin, summernote not showing font options etc
@Pablo, apologies for giving duff info before.
I have several pages and Admins but each Admin object has its own Frame Name which allows for different passwords and editing of the relevant selected text(s).
Each Admin page shows all the entries and I now realise, that each entry can be edited without knowing its password.
So it would work fine if you weren't bothered about security!!
Just a thought!
Could the Admin object be updated to contain the relevant page name so that it could just show the Editable Content entries relevant to that page?

Maybe you can post this in 'suggestions'? If more users find this useful then I will consider it for future development.Could the Admin object be updated to contain the relevant page name so that it could just show the Editable Content entries relevant to that page?
Re: Editable content admin, summernote not showing font options etc
Thanks, will do.
Re: Editable content admin, summernote not showing font options etc
There is a Simple CMS script from PHPJabbers.com that might fit your needs. You can have multiple users and assign which sections the user can maintain. I have tested it in several situations and it seems to work well. I own the developer license but have not used in production. If you go to their site you can use a fully functional demo. If you choose the option you can extend your demo for a week and even try it out in your WWB site.
A nice function is the ability to upload images and add them to your content all from the dashboard.
Pricing is cheap; $19 for single-site use or $29 for a developer license that can be used on multiple sites.
