You should be able to change the page from html to php via the properties window (underneath the site manager on the right hand side of the work window) and change the File Extension under the general section from html to php

You confuse extension with tags.

@Pyscho I dont think this is what is being asked, what is can the <html ></head> tag be removed and the answer is no. @spoon by now you should know WWB is not a HTML Editor but a HTML Generator thus means no code exists till you publish so you cannot edit in the program. You can edit externally but if you open again in WWB you will lose the external edit and need to redo.
