master css error

Post by IanRob » Mon Oct 15, 2018 12:02 pm

Do you have any idea what could cause the following error :

Expected identifier for class selector but found '#mainb'. Ruleset ignored due to bad selector. MasterApp.css:117:2

the masterApp.css is the css sheet created by style manager

The error is repeated for everything below this

the css created is
.body
{
text-decoration: none;
background-color: #000FFF;
}
.#mainb
{
text-decoration: none;
background-color: #4A8DB8;
margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px;
height: 600px;
max-width: 900px;
}

Thanks

What is 'mainb'?
Is this an object on your page?

mainb is the id of the body

But the same error comes up on a number of style definititions

It may be something specific to Firefox

Firefox does not seem to like the dot before the #. It only seems to accept the dot in from of a word defining the class

If I manually remove the first dot then the error disappears

I am not sure whether the warning is something to be concerned about, or not (It only appears on the developers console - not on the main screen)

Why did you add a dot in front of the mainb ?
In CSS, a dot means a 'class'.

Thank you Pablo

It must have been something imported from my programmer's style sheet

I thought It was generated by WB14

Sorry to have troubled you

Thanks again

You are very patient

Thanks

Pablo

Yes, it is the same problem as before

If you import a style sheet with a # (using the import button of style manager) - WB14 automatically adds a dot - thus changing the meaning of the style to "class"

Why are you using the Site Manager to add custom CSS?
The 'Import' option in the Site Manager is meant to import CSS from another (WWB) project.
Custom CSS should be added via Page HTML or Site HTML.
