*SOLVED* Google Map "Cover" Layer?

Post by etcbbu » Fri Jun 15, 2018 3:01 am

Can we do a Layer that finds the width of the screen set to be a Google Map location? If so, how?

Example:

https://www.certifiedautosound.com/
https://firstcoastautocreations.com/
(towards the bottom of the page)

Yes, the map at the bottom of http://www.wysiwygwebbuilder.com/suppor ... wyork.html is exacly what I would like to do.

So I am trying to re-create it on a new .WBS file, but, where and how do I get that gmaps.js file..?

Yes, I did, and I see ow there is a "File Upload" object, that seems to be uploading a " gmaps.js "in addition to an HTML text-box?

Or is it that simply defining the HTML text-box first, *that* is the " gmaps.js " file?

Correct.

So, you add the same object to your own project and then you have the file!

Ok, just copy/paste it from your template?

When I copied the

"File Publisher"

Object over from your .WBS template file onto my project, whenever I paste it into my own project, it no longer contains the "gmaps.js" file. How do I build that?

In that case insert a new 'File Publisher' object and add the same file as in the template.
The file is already on your hard disk because it is also used by the template...

I am sorry, I am really not trying to be difficult, but I do not know how I can get a gmap.js file out of a .WBS WB12 Template file. Because it appears that it is because when I tried "PASTING" this "FIle Upload" object from the Template onto a WB14 .WBS project-file, it loses the gmap.js file that is inside of the "File Upload" object. But when I tried "Pasting" the "File Upload" object onto a blank WB12 .WBS file, it seemed to "bring over" the gmap.js file with it.

I am sorry..is there any way you could save the Template as a WB14 Template, or something, and that way, maybe when I paste the object over from that, it will still have the gmaps.js file with it?

Have you installed the template? if yes simply view the template locally on your PC, this will then place temp files on your PC. Now do a search for gmaps.js when found save it to a new location for use in the File Publisher.

Or copy and paste the url into your browser, it should open with a load of text ( or offer to download the file 'save as') then simply copy all of it to notepad saving as gmaps.js and hey presto you now have the file!!!

That makes sense. I went to that URL you just shared, http://www.wysiwygwebbuilder.com/suppor ... s/gmaps.js , and I saved it all into a blank file in "Adobe Dreamweaver", then saved it as gmaps.js . But even now, when I have it in the "File Publisher" object on my page, and listed there as a child in the same layer as the HTML Textbox with this text:

Code: Select all

<script src="http://maps.google.com/maps/api/js?sensor=true"></script>
<script src="gmaps.js"></script>
<script>
$('#map').prepend('<div id="map-inner" style="position:absolute;left:0;top:0;width:100%;height:100%"></div>');

var map = new GMaps({
   el: '#map-inner',
   lat: 40.770401,
   lng: -73.967635
});

map.addMarker({
  lat: 40.7699459,
  lng: -73.9735114,
  title: 'Central Park',
  click: function(e)
  {
    alert('You clicked in this marker');
  }
});
</script>
and "Between <head></head> tags" chosen, it's still not working:

I am trying to put it in that lighter-blue Layer, as you scroll a little. And it's just not displaying. I'm sorry to beleaguer the point, guys, I am not trying to be difficult, I just don't understand why it isn't working..

The code refers to 'map-inner', but there is no 'map-inner' object on your page!
