WYSIWYG 14 | Layout Grid | VIDEO Background Mode issue

Post by AgErDo » Fri May 11, 2018 8:35 am

WYSIWYG 14 | Layout Grid | Background Mode = VIDEO issue

The issue concerns the Video Background Mode in Styles Tab. I've pasted the YouTube URL link including "embedded" like this for instance: https://www.youtube.com/embed/AjM1EbWUg50 and after pressing F5 rendering starts and browser opens.... the video doesn't play. Instead there is a still image from the video clip with big Play button in the middle... please support.

Are you using Chrome by any chance, as the same happened to me, Chrome changed their policy settings. To change it back....

Go into chrome and set "No user gesture is required" at chrome://flags/#autoplay-policy

Yes, I'm using the Chrome, however the issue doesn't appear when rendered in WYSIWYG 12...

Are you sure it still work with WB12?
This is a recent change in Chrome, unrelated to WWB.

hmmm.... I can't verify it now as I've already uninstalled WWB 12 from my PC.
I've re-rendered the Video Clip in my VEGAS Pro software completely excluding the sound ....even from rendering options... still doesn't work.

The thing is that the whole "charm" now is dead... when opening my website... no video background is playing automatically now... just that thumbnail in the middle... I'm not going to write to my clients to unlock some options in Chrome settings to gain the desired effect for God sake...

Hello Reasure,

Thank you for your support however I don't see such option like "No user gesture is required" in my chrome settings...

Note that this has nothing to do with WWB. This is a Chrome related issue.
The video functionality is implemented in the browser.

copy this in to chromes url bar....

chrome://flags/#autoplay-policy

Of course this will only work for you, if other users to your website that use chrome haven't changed that setting they wont get the auto-play video, only the background image with a play button.

I don't think so, otherwise this new feature in Chrome would be useless.

...well I was thinking from the WWB side... something like a trigger in bookmark for example or event which will force the video to run...

hmmm... so I've came up with an override idea using your HTML5 Video. I've uploaded video clip to the local file, applied Layout Grid, added Text and Image components then added <HTML> with the following code:

<style>
#wb_indexMediaPlayer1
{
position: absolute !important;
}
</style>

...and after rendering video runs automatically in Chrome every time you open the browser. The only obstacles are the Text, Image components which do not display at all... like they were vanished... any idea why??

Hello Pablo,

I think the best solution for the Video Background in Layout Grid -> Styles -> Mode would be to add, next to the video (YouTUBE or Vimeo URL), a Video from file... is that possible??
