Timer Object. Actions and Event

Post by fochardo » Tue Apr 10, 2018 10:26 am

I have seen that it is not possible to change the opacity of an object through the Timer object. it is right?
This option would be very interesting for various things.

You can apply a style or animation to an object via events.

Of course, but the questions what I need is that when loading the page all the objects have transparency 0, then when some time passes all objetc they have 100% of visibility again. Thanks.

Example:
Add a style with opacity 0
Then with a timer add a different class with opacity 1

Correct, because they are complicated widgets. So, in most cases applying a style will not have the desired effect.
However, you can still apply a style via events.

Sorry. In the Style Manager Dialog Box the only similar to opacity is backgroun color.
I not find mode to change the opacity in the Carousel in mode Floating by using styles.

I try a trick In carousel I make the follow:

Events -- Activate1 --Hide Carousel

Then in Timer object ontimer---Show with effects---Carousel.

Work, but the first image of carousel blink when reload the second time.

There is another trick or shortcut for this?.

You can add custom properties in the Style Manager.
For example: opacity: 1.0

The Carousel itself is using animations to animate the slides, so I don't think it is a good idea to use 'ShowWithtEffect. It may cause conflicts.
The Carousel uses different (third party) scripts depending on which options you select.
I think, you should keep it as basic as possible to prevent conflicts with advanced functionality like the Carousel.

Hi Fochardo.
Yes its kind of a pseudo-page-transition solution. I came up with idea of using timer object to simulate page transitions (its at the begining of my post).
But this solution does not give you real transition. For example you cant have two pages overlaping during transition. But its possible to fake it. You can place all object as part of one page and hide part of them. Then you can show them using animation to have similar effect.

Maybe in future versions of WWB we can work with page transitions. Regards

Hi [RZ]!
I 've seen many great extensions made by You. Probably I will buy some in future when I get better in website building and i'll be needing more than what WB alone can offer. But Preloaded Links extension demo shows visually something I am able to reproduce using timer and animations in WB (excluding preloading of course). I cant see no real crossfade in between pages there. Or its just because demo does not show all possible transition types?
Regards

you are welcome and thank you for your kind words
yes, the extension currently offers visually fast transitions (you dont see objects being loaded) or fade-out and fade-in transitions
i have something to mimic cross-fade transitions as well, but i will rewrite it from scratch (when i can find the time) because of old limitations of the script
perhaps i overlooked the detail you posted (cross-fade)
apologies for the misunderstanding from my part
w/regards

[RZ]. Thanks for the info. I have seen your extensions and in the future it is possible to acquire any.
