TextFormating

Post by sieweb » Sat Dec 30, 2017 9:54 pm

Hi,
I have a problem with editing the text format.
- If I select a word within a textframe, I would expect to see the valid format definition in the format tab, but isn't.
- The next problem I try to describe in a little screencapture film, please excuse the bad audio, I had some trouble to use my headphone-mic combi.
Here it is:

whatever you prefer.

After looking at the video provided by Horst, I decided to check this out for myself and can replicate some strange occurrences with regards to the text formatting, here is my recipe:

Create 2 text boxes and add a single paragraph of Lorem Ipsum random text to each one.

Set each box via the object properties to use responsive fonts, finally highlighting all the text in each box in turn and setting box 1 to use the format heading of H6 and box 2 to use H5

Now create a new 768 break point, if you then view the break point page, you will notice they are not using H6 or H5 as expected BUT if you then go back to the default page, you will see both text boxes have lost the H tag formats.

I then reset both of these back to H5 and H6 respectively and then went back to the 768 page, again nothing changed as expected but returning back to the default page, both boxes had lost the formatting again

The font and sizes "do" keep their format if I use the font & size drop down menu but if I use an H tag format, the boxes lose the formatting when changing breakpoint pages, is this by design or have we uncovered a bug

Please note that if you select 'Enable responsive fonts' then styles will no longer work. Using 'Enable responsive fonts' overrides global styles.
You either use responsive styles or you use responsive (inline) fonts. They cannot be used at the same time.

It is not a 'trap'. it is logic. The text is either responsive through inline styles or global styles. Not both at the same time!
