save 3rd party code as a block

Post by Lasa » Fri Dec 07, 2018 12:46 am

If I use a particular 3rd party script a lot, bring it in via the <HTML> tool, can I save it as a block by grouping the < html >objects including the file publisher (some have a ton of folders)?
If possible is there anything special I need to know to make it easier?
Cheers,
Lasa

You could make the script code into a extension then all you would need to do is drag 'n' drop to page when needed.

Is making extensions easy? Looked rough when I gave it a look see.
I'll look into downloading the extension builder and give it a run.

Is it possible to add as a <html> objects as a block?

Hi Frank,
I have made my mals ecommerce carts as a block however I made the extension first then setup my page on a grid and then saved it as a block, now I have heaps of ecommerce blocks with different looks to them all.

I have also added the html object to a grid and then saved that as a block as well, only thing is you cant visually see the code like you can if you make an extension first

Yes, it is possible to include HTML objects as block. There are several per-defined block that also have this.

Thanks everybody.
So the <html> won't show in the block... find not seeing the <html> kinda disconcerting, hard to work with.
I'll see if i can venture into the extension world.
Thanks again.
Cheers

The block will show up, but not the code. WWB is not a browser so it will not render the HTML. The HTML only makes sense in the context of the entire page.

html disconcerting as I thought as long as I indicate: use <div> to set position and size of the HTML
Then it works as expected adding image using html looks like a place holder.
