Image Resizing Problem

Post by bsalisbury » Fri Sep 14, 2018 5:31 pm

Hi everyone - I am using WB12. When inserting images, I can insert the first image and resize it without issue. However, when I insert and try to resize subsequent images within the same layer I am not able to do so. They appear in their original size. I have checked the manual and searched the forum. I apologize for missing something obvious. Thanks, Brian

There is no difference between resizing the first image and other images.
What is the exact problem?
What did you do?
Is there an error?
What are the exact steps to reproduce this behavior?

Thanks for your reply. I have tried these steps multiple times . . .

I insert an image and resize it - successfully
I insert a second image - resize it and upload it - view in browser - image has not resized
I hit refresh in the browser but still no change
I delete all images and try again using the above steps - any subsequent images have not resized

I did try changing the size of the source file for the second image and uploading it - it then shows as a smaller file - but I don't want to do this as a permanent workaround.

No errors show at any time.

It is a Windows 10 pro 64 bit system in a PC built to edit 4k video so the system should not be a problem.

I insert a second image - resize it and upload it - view in browser - image has not resized
Maybe the file name of the image is invalid/not web safe?
Or maybe there is problem with your browser?
For example, some browser add-ins modify the HTML code of the page (ad blocker).

Tip: always include the URL of the page so we can help you more efficient.

Thanks for your response. Alas, I am not super techie. I checked Chrome and restored the settings to their defaults. I did not see ad blocking. I also let WB 12 assign all extensions so don't think that is an issue either.

I can get two images to resize upon uploading, but not a third - http://langleyacl.com/page1.html - the images in black were resized successfully but not the third on the right. They view the same in Microsoft Edge and on my tablet and wife's PC.

Any further suggestions are welcome. Thanks, Brian

I tested everything I have been trying in WB12 to resize images on a site I have developed in WB14 and don't have the same resizing issues. Not sure what this means but . . .

I'm sorry, but I do not see any issues with the images.
I do not think this has anything to do with the software.

Thanks for your efforts. I can work around the issue in the short term, and in any event, I will be migrating my various sites to WB14 in the coming months.

I think there is a problem with the custom code you have added.
The code is either invalid or incomplete.

Please remove all manually added code from the page and then try again.

Thanks, but I don't recall adding any code anywhere other than on the few pages associated with functions like the custom search bar and the calendar. On all other pages I simply chose from the available menu options when building the pages. Or am I misunderstanding you in some way? Thanks, Brian

The custom code in question is what you have inserted into the HTML Object(s) named Html1 and Html2 and possibly the href with /cdn-cgi/l/email inserted. If any of this is invalid or incomplete then it will break how the page displays.

Thanks everyone for your input - I can only surmise that this has been caused by the server that hosts my site(s). I checked 6 hours after the last upload and all images were resized appropriately. It seems that they will only resize 2 images at a time in real time, then I have to wait a long period of time for the others. It is beyond my pay grade to understand why but there you have it. It is rather annoying since anyone visiting an active site will see some strange images sizes but . . . thanks again.

Sounds like a browser cache issue to me if your site shows correctly after a few hours, on your next upload, try pressing CTRL+F5 when viewing the page concerned in your browser and see if the changes are then instant.
