Please contact your web host for further assistance. This is unrelated to the software.

.htaccess is a configuration file. It should just be saved as .htaccess. Rename the file and delete the .txt ignoring the warnings. Then ftp to server. I would log on to your server first using the Host Control Panel then look at your root directory using their file Manager before uploading your file. In my experience the normal ftp programs do not show the .htaccess file but when I use the control panel file manager it is there and able to be edited by double clicking on file. At that point you can paste in the new lines of code at the end of the file and save.

I know I'm realy basic and I thanks you for your support.
Web Hosting service says the domain do not support PHP and redirect rules.
They recommend to publish a new index.html file with redirect rules to https page, and rename index.html as index2.html.
I did it, but does'nt work. Have you an idea?

Did you use the redirect in the Page Properties?

I created .htacess.txt in root directory As Your instructions but it does'nt work. :(

It's not .htacess.txt
there is no .txt suffix
it is .htacess

you need to rename it via ftp

Yes, I use redirect in page properties. I had a doubt: redirect is possible to an external web address or in Page in the project; in case of external, you can write https, in Page in this project you can't do it.

I tried to write (.txt) a file .htaccess (without .txt) in ftp root directory, and the site disappear on the web.

Internal links are relative so they use the same prefix.
Redirect to an external page should work.

Ok, in index page I did redirect to

https://www.clinicasemprini.it

the original index is now index2

It's seems working. The homepage is now index2. Is it a problem?

Thanks a lot

web site host says I also need to redirect all the url of the site to https; how I can do it?

You will need to do this for all pages.

It really would be easier/better if you could do this on the server.

I can't offer any more on this except to say if the Host does not have php or redirect I'd be looking for a new Host. There is just so much competition out there for hosting and some really great rates. I can only hope you have a really cheap hosting fee.

Thanks for your suggestions. I was thinking about moving to another host too. Have you any idea about hosting services with the best price / quality ratio? At the moment my web site is hosted by Register.

I'm in New Zealand so probably not much help there as I gather you are in Europe. Perhaps someone more local for you can offer suggestions.
