Can't properly install update

Post by TomCat60 » Tue Nov 14, 2017 8:50 pm

Have tried more than once, rebooted, updated, redownloaded, ran as administrator and still no-go. I have a 64 bit Win10 system and have installed and ran updated to the software before. It now chokes during install at:

This probably means that the folder is read-only or does not have the appropriate permissions.

Please remove or rename c:\Users\Thomas\Documents\WYSIWYG Web Builder\system\cms, so a new folder with the correct permissions will be created.

I renamed the cms folder and tried again, it created a new "cms" folder with the "wwwbeditor" subfolder but came back with same message.

Normally these folders are not read-only.
Maybe you installed a previously version with different credentials?

Note that the setup cannot change the permissions, only you (the admin of the computer) can do that.

I agree I think something happened system wide by mistake but I am really gray on permissions, how would I fix this? If not just only for this software?

Rename the entire folder
c:\Users\Thomas\Documents\WYSIWYG Web Builder\
to
c:\Users\Thomas\Documents\WYSIWYG Web Builder_BACKUP\

A new folder with the right permissions will be created by the software when you launch it.
Once the new folder has been created you can copy all files back from the original folder.

I'm sorry this is not something I can help you with. Only you can change the permission on your computer.
Can't you ignore the message?

Had the same problem when trying to uninstall the programme for some reason this week. You don´t have the rights to change on this pc.I am the only one that uses it. I rightclick on the wsiwyg-icon, security and -there filled some empty "boxes". Don´t know if this was the right way but it worked after that. Have win 10, 64- system and it happends sometimes with other programmes too.
