Web PDF Viewer Extension

Post by Patrik iden »

Hello, i just made this Extension - Web PDF Viewer. With this extension you can view PDF files directly in your browser (no need for Adobe Reader).

The Extension short explanation:

I have removed some files from the extension, that made WWB start very slow. There is a download link for these files also. Just unpack the folders in this .rar file and add a File publisher object to your page and put in these folders here, then publish your project.

In the demo page i have a index page that contains the links to the PDF file. I also have an file publisher object at the top left corner where you can add the folders from the extra files .rar file.

The extension it self i have on another page (pdf_test.html).

Hope you have some use for it :)

If I try to install this extension wb freezes.
If I manually add this extension to my sytem/extension folder wb doesn't open anymore
Seems there's something wrong with the extension

Strange, it works for me. Are you using the latest version of WWB?

Have you tried publishing my WWB demo, My project may not work as it should. Try this:

1. On the index page, have the PDF images/icons.
2. Make two folders "doc1" and "doc2".
3. Make a page to have the extension on "pdf_test1" and place this page in the folder "doc1", and in the Extension i pick a PDF file.
4. Do the same thing for the second page (note! you should have the file publisher tool with the folders "build" and "images" in it on bouth pages.
5. On the index page click the icons and make links to the bouth pages.
4. Publish all pages and files.

This works for me.

See new demo page: http://test3.fcab.se/pdfviewer/test/

Hi Patrik! Sorry for misunderstanding!
I've the last version of wwb, the 12.0.2.
I've test to open preview of your project with this extension but have same problem to visualize correctly such as my site and i not understand if it's normal offline or not.

If is possible, i need help from You to insert the extension on my company site step by step.
I've 3 catalogs pdf. One of it is of 70 mb.

First... not consider the index page. i not start to 0. I explain in a few words..

Into index page, i've intro full responsive, with a click redirect to home.
Into menu i've "catalogs" that if clicked, have a bookmark that redirect to login and then login redirect to catalogs page.
In catalogs page have 3 brands.
If click on one brand, i've setting a bookmark in a same page that i want that select the start catalog space to visualize pdf.
If i put the extension on layout grid (full width) and select pdf, in preview change total background in a gray colour and is not correct for the site. My background is black.
Now.. first.. is possible to open in a same page the pdf into a extension? Or i'm obliget to create new page and, from catalogs page, link the extension in other page?
Eventually is possible insert a inline frame and visualize in a precise space for catalog the page with pdf is responsive mode?
Now i hope you understand my position with my site and hope you help me.
