Liquid Zoom (FREE)

Post by Adendum » Tue Jan 07, 2014 6:51 pm

Is a very simple extension that makes it easy to show one or more images on a page and allow the visitor to zoom in on the image in a variety of ways. Each image can be styled individually with caption options, linking and a variety of customisable zooming options.

The original jQuery and CSS was written by Pascal Gautier, a regular member and contributor to the WWB forum (name in the forum is Pascal Gilles – formerly Crochepattes).

Here is his original tutorial and demo. Any my thanks to him for sharing his code and for his assistance while building and testing this extension.

Demo.

NOTE:
This extension is pretty straight forward and very easy to use however you should make every effort to fully read the help file as this contains several links to online resources and other tools you will benefit from using to optimise your images. This extension can take large images and make zooming an easy process however large images can bring even the most powerful desktop and browser to its knees.

This is an information page (part of the demo) that explains some of the issues with images.

Have fun!

Hi!

Thanks very much Paul for transposing these latest features into the extension. Your work is perfectly reflecting the jQuery plugin, congratulations! :D

Just a small note:

Chrome is rather tricky when using HTML5 canvas locally.

Don’t panic if these new colorizing features cannot be seen when locally previewing a project with Chrome.
Whereas you will be able to use Chrome when published files are uploaded  just use another one like Firefox, Internet explorer,… for preview purposes!

Cheers!
Pascal
