Re: Camera Slideshow (FREE) ** UPDATED **

Post by Adendum »

17/10/12 (19:01) : Changed to an EB4 build, now uses HTML Textbox to enter text.

Note:
[a] This extension is now built using EB4 which means users of WWB7.5 or less can no longer use the new version unless they upgrade to WWB8.5.
The extension also requires the extension HTML Textbox to be installed.

All three demo pages have been updated - see 2nd slide in each demo (the Batman slides). Text is now managed by HTML Textbox.

2. Your site isn't using camera slideshow.

3. Is this post therefore just a spam entry?

Please note that Adendum will not be able to answer any questions related to this extension for at least three weeks, this is due to him being away and not having access to PC for this time. As the extension was made by Adendum only he can answer your questions related to this.

Hi Adendum

I have just upgraded to v9 & now I'm seeing issues with jquery tabs not loading correctly.

The only extension used on the page is the camera slideshow.

I read on another thread: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=56731&hilit=JQUERY that it could be an issue with jquery versions on extensions (this is the exact same issue with page loading on my site)

When I select Jquery1.9.1 in page properties the camera slideshow no longer works.

What version jquery does the camera slideshow use?
Is it possible that an older version jquery is causing this conflict?

Hi Adendum,

I just removed the camera slideshow from the page & the jquery tabs all load correctly.
I got the slideshow on 280+ pages now so, I was wondering if you have any plans to update the extension?

JimmyJazz,

Change the page properties to use jQuery 1.7.2 and it will all work again. I'll look at the extension when Pablo updates the Extension Builder to work with v9 but even so there may not be anything I can do. When the original developer created the slideshow they will have written their code using the syntax that that version operated on. As jQuery is constantly evolving some code/syntax changes, which could mean that this extension and others are only going to work on older versions of jQuery.

Note that if you have upgraded your project from version 8 then the jQuery version will automatically be set to 1.7.2, so you only need to change it for new pages.

Hi Paul the issue lies with the jQuery files used ie the following two below in red that are not compatible with jQuery 1.9.1. I am posting a url that should give you updated files that work. I tested locally using jQuery 1.9.1 and 1.7.2 with the following files
Working with 1.9.1 and 1.7.2
jquery.mobile-1.3.0.min.js, camera.js
Not
jquery.mobile.customized.min.js
camera.js

Link

Hope this helps :)

Re: Camera Slideshow (FREE)

I've spent all day on this and sorry to say that the Bjorn Kuiper jQuery edits made no difference. So I don't know what you tested Calum but I couldn't get it all to work together.

I have updated to version 1.0.0.8 but it's actually the same as version 1.0.0.7 and I only did that because I ended up with another versioning mess at my end so at least I know my builder files match the current version now.

Back to the drawing board.

For the record the extensions works 100% as expected in WWB8 and the only issue remaining is that in WWB9 using jQuery 1.7.2 it wont preview and of course it wont work at all using 1.9.1.

Another day maybe!!!

Re: Camera Slideshow (FREE) *** UPDATED ***

Post by Adendum »

Version 1.0.0.9 released to correct several missing files!

Apologies to any users that updated to 1.0.0.8 back in July....it was after my old PC died and I had a completely different folder structure. So where I thought I had linked up several files they were in fact pointing to my old PC structure - thus no files were linked. So if you tried it and couldn't get it to work that was why...me not you!

Run WWB.
Click on Tools.
Click on Extension Manager.
Click on Online Gallery>All

It's in there.

Alternatively go to the official extensions site and put CAMERA in the search. Download from there and manually install.

If you see nothing then one or more properties of the extension have not been set.

It is critical that any property that is a dataset is completed; for example:-

02 - Screen Size is a dataset - so this NEEDS data in it for the extension code to populate and then work.
09 - Inset iFrames Styling is another dataset - also required if you are using inset iframes.
10 - Slider Content is the last dataset - particularly important as this is where the images etc are placed.

My guess is that you have not set the properties of section 02 - Screen Size :)

David,

Thanks for the project file. You have TWO issues with the index page:-

1. You have HTML code between the head tags that you appear to have added from a Camera Slide Show page. You do not need to add this code to any page using the extension as the extension will handle that for you. So remove all of it. e.g.:

Code: Select all

<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1" />
<link rel='stylesheet' id='camera-css'  href='css/camera.css' type='text/css' media='all' />
<script type='text/javascript' src='scripts/jquery.min.js'></script>
<script type='text/javascript' src='scripts/jquery.mobile.customized.min.js'></script>
<script type='text/javascript' src='scripts/jquery.easing.1.3.js'></script>
<script type='text/javascript' src='scripts/camera.min.js'></script>
<script>
jQuery(function(){
    jQuery('#camera_wrap_1').camera({
            thumbnails: false,
            /*pagination: false,*/
            height: '500px' /*Höhe des Bildes*/
    });
});
</script>
<style type="text/css">
div#container
{
   width: 960px;
   position: relative;
   margin-top: 0px;
   margin-left: auto;
   margin-right: auto;
   text-align: left;
}
body
{
   font-size: 8px;
   line-height: 1.1875;
   text-align: center;
   margin: 0;
   background-color: #FFFFFF;
   color: #696969;
}
</style>
2. You have set the extension to Fullscreen which will obscure your page content. Reset that to 'Normal'.

I would also suggest that you reposition the index page content and lower it as it is sitting too close to the bottom of the slideshow. I also spotted a spelling mistake in the text of one slide " 3 to 12 moths" :)
inmedo-preview.jpg
I would be very interested to learn why you thought you needed to manually place the code above into the page????

Re: Camera Slideshow (FREE) - YOUTUBE CHANGES

Post by Adendum »

Hi,

It has been brought to me attention that the instructions to embed a YouTube video no longer work and on further inspection I found that the demo pageswere not working correctly due to both a missing video and incorrect YouTube video embed codes. These have now been corrected and all demo pagesare working as expected.

The technique to embed a YouTube video is still very easy:

In the page:
1. Ensure your page properties set the jQuery version to 1.7.2 rather than the current 1.9.1 version - without this you will see nothing!

In the extension:
2. In section 10 (Slider Content) select a Slide Type of "Image with inset video or html" or "Video"
3. Complete all other required sections as needed
4. In the section "Video-HTML Feed" paste the YouTube URL as indicated below.

Getting your YouTube URL:
5. Click into the video
6. Click SHARE > EMBED
7. Copy part of the code so you have http://www.youtube.com/embed/Ke1Y3P9D0Bc?rel=0 and add https:// when you paste into the extension.

So you end up with https://www.youtube.com/embed/Ke1Y3P9D0Bc?rel=0

Have fun!

Sorry, I don't understand your questions...

thumbs: do you mean in the extension or the thumbs seen at the end of a YouTube video?

loading: no idea what you are referring to here.

dots: You mean the pagination or navigation markers. If you are asking to change the circle graphics to word the answer is no.

Walker,

I have now used the embed code for the video you want to show in Camera Slideshow. The error message (in English) clearly tells you that you cannot use the video. Nothing I can do about that!!
youtube-error.jpg
As for your other questions:-

1. Loading icon.
Look at section 06 - Loader. Options are Pie, Bar or None. Set to None!

2. Thumbs.
Look at section 03 - General Settings. Options are Pagination or Thumbnails. Set to Pagination if thumbnails not required!

3. Dots?????????
I can only assume you mean the pagination circles. See above. The more slides you add the more circles you will see.

May I also suggest you run your questions/responses through a different translation package as it's very unclear what you are asking...or maybe run it by another Netyherlander who speaks English as that would help a great deal.

Hope that clears up your questions. :)

Your 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th slides are empty!

Also looking at the pagination circles on hover there are no images - so it looks like you have not uploaded all files.

Walker,

You are close but you are not seeing thumbs over the hovered pagination circles because you haven't set them in the extension. In EACH slide there is a setting in 10 - Slider Content immediately under the IMAGE setting there is a THUMB setting. So for every slide you create you need a MAIN image and a THUMB image.

The easiest way to do that is to create all your main slides and then run them all through a batch processor like XnConvert or Faststone to create re-sized thumbs.The open the extension and set the thumbnail images.

The extension expects and requires TWO images for each slide.

1. The main slide image - which you have

2. A small thumbnail image - used and seen when you hover over the pagination circles (or when you set thumbnails to be seen). These you need to create and then set in the extension, just like you did for the main slide images.

It IS all in thre help file!!!!!

No offense Walker but I have no idea what you are talking about here. Either your translation software is really bad or your English needs a lot of work. If I could speak Dutch I'd try and help but I can't.

1. I know you are using the extension - we have emailed each other and have communicated several time on this forum and I have even sent you a working WWB project.

2. What does "Camera Slideshow Packed" mean?

3. What do you mean by saying "but I wanted to do everything the same"?

4. The words "but if I'm going to test to see if everything worked, and no no image for slide." means what? you tested what? What no image for a slide?

Sorry but I can't understand 95% of what you are asking (not even sure you are asking anything) so you need to get someone who is bi-lingual to help you post your questions and if you decide to revert to emailing me as you have in the recent past you'll need to get your questions translated by someone.

You only have to view the page source to see the obvious!!!!!!!!!!

Code: Select all

</style>

Kind of missing everything - particularly the extension elements!

Is this like some kind of Dutch "April Fools" thing?

OK, one last time. Here's what I'll do for you....

1. You save your project file and all images and ZIP it all up and email it to me.
2. Send me your FTP credentials (host/username/password)
3. Email me an exact requirement for each slide e.g.:-
[slide 1] Use image X as the background, Insert 200x500 Youtube video XXXXXXXX top left, caption AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
[slide 2] Use image Y as the background, Insert 200x500 Youtube video XXXXXXXX top right, caption BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB.
[slide 3] Use image Z as the background, Insert 200x500 Youtube video XXXXXXXX bottom left, caption CCCCCCCCCCCC.
[slide 4] Use image T as the background, Insert 200x500 Youtube video XXXXXXXX bottomleft, caption DDDDDDDDDDDDD.
4. I will create the page for you and FTP to your server.
5. I will then ZIP up the edited project and images and send them back to you.
6. You then get someone to translate the supplied help file into your language - you read it and proof check it and email the Dutch version of the text and I will create a Dutch version of the help file just for you!

How's that?
