Pagination *** UPDATED Mar-02-2012 ***

Post by [RZ] » Thu Feb 23, 2012 7:45 pm

[rz] Pagination v1.1.0.0

This extension allows to paginate a set of static pages emulating a dynamic scheme.
You can link to a series of pages by clicking [previous page], [next page] or even the [page number].

http://www.mediafire.com/?yx5ih6bbwdqc6z7

HTML 4.01 Transitional
W3C compliant

How to use?

You must have all the pages to be linked/paginated with the same prefix, followed by a two digits number, i.e. mypage01, mypage02, mypage03, etc.
The sequence must be a consecutive serie of (two digits) numbers.
For an optimal design, put the extension in a masterpage and embed it in all these pages you need to link to.

If you need more than one extension instance in the same page, you must enter an unique ID (Properties / General -> ID)

In the site manager, i.e. you have all the designed pages as follows:

myproject
mypage-masterpage
mypage-01
mypage-02
mypage-03
mypage-04
mypage-05

In mypage-masterpage, you have the extension.
The page name prefix is "mypage-" (without the quotes).
Number of pages: 5.
File extension: html (you can use others page extensions as well).
You can customize your messages: "go previous" and "go next".
The other properties are explained by themselves.

Enjoy!

@anaelle
it is an extension.
you need a licensed copy of wb7 or wb8 and install the extension via the extension manager.
the mediafire.com link i provided it is safe.

[RZ], am here now :)
Well, I made a website for a customer, but left the gallery page with "coming soon" as she is preparing the images.
Let's say she has 100 images to be shown as a lightbox gallery. We don't want the whole 100 images on the same page, so we decided to put them in 4 pages. Now I have 2 options:
1. Using this extension, and in each page I put 25 images.
2. Using Layers extension (oc2) with text links to switch between each layer (4 of course) where each layer also contains 25 images.
Well, am fine with both options, but here is my question (might not have the answer here, but, I just want to check):
As I mentioned above, each page (using pagination extension) or each layer (using oc2 extension) will have 25 images out of the 100.
Is there a way to split the 100 images into 4 parts (pages/layers) but at the same time the viewer can navigate between the 100 images (using Previous/Next arrows) while the images are shown in the lightbox?
Thanks :)

i'm not sure if i fully understood...
if the images are not so big, you can hold them in the same page.
anyhow, 100 images... why not use an extension like simpleviewer?
again, i think i didn't understand 100%...

Well, when you use -let's say- prettyphoto photogallery, when you add 100 images, it creates 100 thumbnails.
The 100 thumbnails are a lot to be held in one page (so crowded).
So, I want to split them into 4 parts using -let's say- oc2 extension with 4 layers, each layer holding a gallery with 25 images.
So now I have 4 galleries with 25 images in each.
If I go to the second gallery and click on the first thumbnail image, I can navigate through the 25 images of THIS gallery only. What I want is to be able to navigate through the 100 images (not thumbs).

I found a partial solution for that, using SUB's Ultimate Page Scroller (well, this might explain more what I was asking) as follows:
An index page containing a normal iframe linked to page1. Page1 contains the gallery with 70 images (as a test), the gallery is set to have 10 columns, so it is 10x7.
I put a bookmark in the middle of the gallery, and a text link below the galley linked to this bookmark.
I set the width of the iframe to show only 5x7 of the images, and when the text link is clicked, the page moves to the second 5x7 thumbnails.
So here, if I click any of the thumbnails, when the lightbox gallery opens, I can navigate (using Previous/Next arrows) through the 70 images.
The only problem here is since the page containing the gallery is inside an iframe, when clicking the thumbnail, the lightbox is shown inside the iframe, which is smaller and not covering the whole page.

Hope I explained it better this time :)

i don't know how these extensions work internally.
if you use inlineframes, the pics, may not be opened on top as you said.
if you use layers, i don't know if these extensions support "multi-instance".
