Hello SUB,

I believe that there is something with the pixels scrolled, right?
I mean, once you click other menu item, the current text disappears and when it scrolls up or down to the new item, the text fades in after a delay.
Is it possible to provide a simple example in WWB? If you are free for that of course :)
I searched google for that thing but can't seem to search for the right words!

Thanks a lot.

Hi B! not had chance to look yet B, i've read that the scrollto plugin is fragile with portable devices so I think the way to go about it is to use the .animate function within jquery, ill keep you posted B :)

How can I use this extension horizontally and view centered, like this http://www.dienso.com

I can do it for one resolution for example 1600 x 900, but it's not rigth for any other resolution.

Thanks for advance.
(sorry for my english  )

Hi, i'm not sure this can be done easily without any custom coding, its standard html. With it being horizontal, browsers read it just like as if it would be vertical (starting from the top of page but in this case, staring from the very left hand side).

Scott

IE - the resolution on my computer is 1600x900 widescreen. Should I set the paginate to horizontal, and someone with a 19" or even 17" screen views the website, will the bookparks be off? Or is that the purpose of this extension - to avoid this possible issue? Just curious. Thank you for your time.

I love your wesite btw. Very cool.
Hi Rob! Thanks for your kind words!

My personal opinion on what your requiring is this...

I would create your layout with a width area of 1920px..

Basically like this:

1) Page width (in properties): 7680 (this will cater for 4 pages)
2) Place the first bookmark at the far top-left hand side, then go across the width to 1920 and place another bookmark and so on
3) Basically what this will do is, users who have a resolution of 1920x1080 on a large monitor will not see the content on screen from the second page/second bookmark
4) Always aim to build the page content with around 970px width (place a shape object with 970px at the top point of your bookmaks so you know your workspace)
5) and...dont forget to set the overflow-x to hidden in the page properties under misc to give it that x-factor ;)

ps. yes set the direction to: horizontal in the UPS extension properties.

Hope this helps,

Cheers,
Scott

Thank you for this information. I will give it a try. Can you tell me what the visitor experience will be if they have a more narrow screen - like a 19" or 17"? Smaller resolution?

Also, what are you recommendations for vertical scrolling?

Building sites at 970 width (centered) is the first thing that I learned using this software. That is what my site is set to and it fits nicely in smartphones (landscape).

"and...dont forget to set the overflow-x to hidden in the page properties under misc to give it that x-factor" - what does this do?

Thank you again.

Hi Rob,

There will be no difference really in what resolution the user uses, the only difference would be the amount of time it scrolls but if you set it pretty quick, lets say 800 all should be fine.

you're spot on with the 970px ;)

The overflow-x set to hidden - this will make the scrollbars across the bottom (of a horizontal scrolling website) dissapear, giving a more pro aproach to this style of website.

As for a vertical scrolling website - This is standard procedure really, it just depends on your style/taste, i would normally keep a work area content of around 500px-600px vertically.

Hope this helps,

Cheers,
Scott

When I set jquery to 1.7.2 than working!
Now I set jquery to 1.9.1 and still working.
So, it's very possible that i did something wrong.

Thanks, Scott, for this extension and feedback :)

Hi

Has anyone used the Ultimate Page Scroller from Funky5.co.uk, which is also available from the WYSWYG extension page. I am having problems with its as it wont work. When i drag it onto the page it disappears.

I works fine in V8 but does not in V9 or V10 of the web builder. It was recommended to me for another post i placed on the forum see below. Is this a compatibility issue with V10 or am i doing something wrong.

I installed it via the extension manager and it stated that it was successful

Check your jQuery version. Select "No jQuery" if you already have it on the page through another jquery driven object.

I'm using the UPS on a recent project and its working great; however, I've noticed one issue and not sure what might be the cause.

After the website initially loads, it seems when you click the first navigation link it 'jumps' to the bookmark rather than scrolling to it. After the first link is clicked, subsequent links perform as intended by scrolling to their location. It only seems to happen once the page is initially loaded. Almost like you're clicking the link too soon before the page is ready to scroll.

Anyone else had this issue? It's loading the most recent jquery. The only other extension i'm using on the page is 'backstretch'.

The functionality of this extension is pre-built in to the latest version of the software - I would recommend purchasing the latest version if you have not already.

@madebyibloo (Scott) are you ok with the extension being offered? will you offer support if needed? I am only asking because if you do not then it might be best to say you do not offer support to this anymore as the feature can be done with WB as you mentioned. It will later save questions like I can't get it to work? Can it be made to do this etcetera.

Hey BF! yeh I'm not supporting it as it's pre-built in the software, I'll update the topic......been on and off with health issues this past year and not had time to update anything or do pretty much anything. I will at some point get it together tho and release some new stuff, got lots in the pipeline ;)
