I have an issue with java script, if someone knows how to calculate this:
$('a',$(this)).stop().animate({'marginLeft':'-85px'},200);

like this
$('a',$(this)).stop().animate({'marginLeft':'-100+15px'},200);
in other words, i want always the value to be -15 so if is -100 to be -85 if is -120 to be -105 automatically

will be much of a help...

Superb effect and effort from you.
One question: does it always have to be in the left corner or can its position be shifted?

My knowledge in java are very limited, the script is build to work basically in left side. If some one knows he can post the modified code to include it.

I am looking for a clarification.
I need to use only 3 tabs, how do I remove the others from the display. I deleted all variables from the 4th tab onwards but still the tabs show as blank.

Yes you was right, fixed, please download again... I didn't have the time to change version numbers. Just overwrite the old extension. Enjoy it.

Ok, a strange issue,
I am using this extension and when I view the site live I see the menu working fine, but, my client says he cant see it. He says he tried 2 computers and still he cant see the menu.
Can you all visit this page and confirm if you see the scrolling fixed black menu on the left of the page!
http://edisonglobal.com/aboutedison.php

Edit:
I just checked, the menu shows only in IE8
It doesnt show in FF, Netscape, Opera, Safari, Chrome
Is there something I did wrong, the menu shows through a masterpage....and works fine in IE8

I hope I am referring to the correct extension....
Called "Fixed Side Navigation"

If yes, then it works only in IE
Smartmedia, some debugging required!!!!????

Hi..

I see that you have set the transparency to 0, normally it will not show the menu if transparency is 0. Change it to 0.5 and check again..

When I put this on a blank page and add this blank page as masterpage to other pages, the last button works on some pages and on some it doesnt...any idea what I am doing wrong?

See the demo:
Look for the menu on extreme left center

The last button (Back) works here:
http://www.edisonglobal.com/led_Lighting.php

But doesnt work here:
http://www.edisonglobal.com/lighting/ar ... ghting.php
Note: if you touch the border of the Back button with your mouse then only it works. whereas the other buttons in the same menu works ok

Hi..

You have an object and perhaps is transparent. If you scroll any page to end and hover the back button you will see that is working. Check the order of objects. I can't think something else..

Thanks!
You are right, I had a vagabond object lying in that region and that was in transparent mode
Thanks once again for your time :D

Hi Smartmedia,

I have rebuilt this extension, tested it and its working fine with the images. I will be posting it in the forum soon. :D

Only constrain I face is that this has a fixed predefined set of menus which can not be added or deleted from user front. So kind of handicap that but otherwise a great menu to use. :D

Good idea to rebuild but it will be great to post it in this same thread so that it will be easier to find.

So users must visit your website to download the extension before using it?

Hi,
Rebuilt was done because the older extension was not working on Web Builder 8.
As you see, all my extensions, free or paid are hosted on my website, so this is no exception. :D

Hmmm, remember the script you are using is not yours and now I know the reasons why BF and others do not want to share their extension any more. Some extensions were shared for others and you rebuild for your own profit on your website for people to login to download them or buy them.

People like George will surely get more donations (I have donated for him) because they are not desperation for users to visit their website for everything.

adex,
As I did mention in my main post. I did not rebuilt this extension using any old project. I developed it from the scratch and if you have ever developed an extension from scratch then only you will know how much time it takes to work out things. Smartmedia DID NOT share his project with me or along with his downloads.
If anyone wishes to download the extension, fine...if not still no issues. If you are facing some problems, why not recreate the extension yourself and and use it! :D

Yeah but Smartmedia reference to the source (Original Website), what about you where did you reference at?

Well, if you rebuilt from scratch then it is your own cup of tea. Moveover, I do build component for DreamWeaver whatelse do you expect?

adex,
I think I need a pair of specs for me now.
I really do not follow where I missed to mention about the author!
Kindly check for yourself.

Well certainly it is, so you can simply use it on your websites without any efforts

Regarding your expertise with DW plugins...why not contribute some quality extensions for WB too!
