Hello Alessandro,

First of very nice plugin you created!
and very nice of you responding here

and yes I saw a new release was coming up, I was waiting for that
but I made this extension for a little month ago,
then thought, aaah why wait, this plug is good ... AS is

If you want me to suspend for the new release, of course I will
but the spirit around here is very much ... "it's getting better all the time"
so if a better version comes up ... people here are very flexible

And I would love to see FontEffect 2.0 Beta
and to see how/if it could integrate better with Webbuilder.

Awesome extension!
Is it possible to save the font effect as a jpg or png?

hello jef11214,

you can run a page and use a screen capture program or hit "print screen" (if set up) then paste from your clipboard
but then again why not use WB Text Art if you want to use images as the end result ?
WB Text Art allows the same effects and more …
Anywayss, you will have your reasons, but those are some options
hope this helps!:)

Hi Jordan,
I actually did the screenshot and pasted into Photoshop to create an image file. Thought I would reach out to you see if I could generate the image file directly from WB. You lose a little granularity in a screenshot. I tried WB Text Art, but I'm using a google font which I downloaded and WB Text Art squashes 2 of the letters together. However, it shows fine in your extension.

Thanks for your response :)

Just to clarify - it's not that 2 letters are squashed together, but the letter "z" appears differently in the WB Text Art for some reason. I have two z's together and the first z is wrong, but the 2nd z shows correctly. I'm using a font called "Henny Penny" (google font). Any idea why this is or should I ask Pablo? If you test the WB Text Art and use the word Jazzy you can see what I mean. Of course you have to add the google font I mentioned though.

hi jeff11214,

I didn't test with Henny Penny but I can see differences occur with other fonts
Text Art creates many styles (shapes) for the text
I don't think there is a true horizontal style available in Text Art, nor manual letter spacing etc
so some fonts may squeeze a little in the transition I guess, it is not a one on one conversion
I suppose that's why it's called Text-Art:)

don't use one TextArt, cut the word into separate instances then compose the word(s) as you require
just something you could try …

other then that yep Pablo is your source for a definitive answer:)

FYI... I just tested this again from a different PC using WB9 and the font shows correctly. This is a Windows 7 PC. The other PC was Windows 8.1.
That's the only difference I see, but it looks right now.

Now I need to see if I can reproduce the same effect from your fonteffect extension in WB Text Art. This is because I need the font as an image file.

Thanks!

Bonjour,

Merci d'avance

hi kriss33

jor_fonteffect is a very old extension, the original author has stopped it's font effect project a long time ago (2010?)
I have no clue if any of my extensions will work in WB14 ?
WB14 is the first WB that I have not installed since WB4:\ - at the moment I do not have time for web building
so I can not give you a reference
I hope to get back at WB at some point, prob. be around WB15 by then (I hope):\
sorry I can't be of any help at the moment, you just have to try and see for yourself
all my extensions have a demo project in the download, if it works in that project it works, and vice versa of course!
