Hi when I first rebuilt this version of the map API V3 it did have a offset in the code, but I had to remove it because it was causing the map icon to be put out of place and not showing the said latittude/longitude position of the location that the user inserted into the extension variables. I will check if I still have a copy of that on Mediafire or backed up and a pendrive If either is the case I will post it temporarily for you to try it out and se it it is what you need...

This is because IE9 is using hardware-accelerated text using sub-pixel Microsoft ClearType font positioning. This will make the font you used look different in display compared to older versions of IE you can trying
Page properties>Misc>Compatibilty>Emulate IE this should force it to look how it should. You can also read more on hardware-accelerated text below..

I take a look and see why this maybe happening looking at my extension it could be due to the wrong doctype getting outputted...this is only something I can fix...I will also add compatibilty mode to the extension as well to allow emulation for older browsers...

Ok to over come this we need to do add this &rsquo;in place of the '
For example:

becomes below but will render/display correctly when published/previewed
Mrs. Lewis&rsquo;s car is nice.

Is it possible to have the balloon tip show when the map loads instead of having to click on the marker..
Sorry the map only uses a onclick event to dispaly the ballon.

Cant reall say it could just be a small lag in time for it to be brought into your page and when you refresh it gets called fater because it is already in your browsers cache.
The extension alread has this feature installed if you notice the small man icon in the map if the users drags this on top of the pin icon it will give a streetview..

Hi..

I spend 2 hours to figure out why the extension not working for me. I was getting the Lat & Lon from here
Well, in the extension the order is Lon & Lat instead of Lat & Lon, during copy i din't notice. Please correct it because i am sure some users will have the same result as me.
Question:
Why you create an extra page for the extension like googlemaps.html you can't just use the code inside a div...???
Notice:
In the field (Map Icon Image Title) i add a message in Greek but is shown as Chinese. Any idea why...??? Perhaps because u using the extra page googlemaps.html.

That's all for now. Thanks

If you maybe had spent either 5 minutes looking through previous posts you would have found the anwser or taking the time to post and I would have replied...
Why you create an extra page for the extension like googlemaps.html you can't just use the code inside a div...???
WHY so that you can use more than one map per site and because the javascript that it is using is HTML 5 complient if you try and mix on the same page the w3C gives errors that is why it is in a iframe....
In the field (Map Icon Image Title) i add a message in Greek but is shown as Chinese. Any idea why...??? Perhaps because u using the extra page googlemaps.html.
I dont know I dont speak greek!!!!! and I have no need to use cryliic characters .....I dont and cant test to make sure it works for every persons language that would take forever...did you try using with the unicode version of the builder?????

And finally if you dont like how the Map works or how I bulit it ...then there are more than just this one available to use...and YES that will be ALL for now

I took this as A INSULT hence me writing the way I did... and again if you dont like the extension move on use another or make your own....and just to let you know I am happy to make any fix that needs making when it is asked nicely....but when I feel I have been insulted I will speak back...

Ok I have looked at the map, and the url you have in the bubble, and it does look disorted in IE :? and not in FF, if you just use the url by itself, inserted into IE address bar and view it is also distored, so this tells me it is nothing to do with the extension, but how IE it rendering the page which is infact using flash to display the streetview, you can see this yourself by looking at the following url which you are using, so it is a browser issue(IE) which the extension has no control over, it also looks like the url is using a older version on the map code (API v2) in the flash that IE cant render the same as Firefox...

Actually, now that I am reading the updates on the first page of this topic:

http://wysiwygwebbuilder.com/forum/view ... 42&t=21331

And then also reading on two of Google's web-pages:

1) http://code.google.com/apis/maps/signup.html

2) http://code.google.com/apis/maps/docume ... avascript/

Now I'm wondering: do we even use an extension to use Google Maps in WB8 anymore? If we do, I used an older version of the Maps extension that you made, BaconFries, but now I am wanting to make sure I have the newest version of the Google Maps Extension, if we are still to use one. Where is the download link for it?

The Google map extension available does use API v3 it also does not require you to insert a API Key as previous versions of the map...this is documented in the very first post oif the extension. So the urls that you pointed me to are exactly what the map has been using since 07/06/11 it was origibally made for version 7.x.x but it will work it WB8

From the first page

This version of the google map was built with Extension builder 2.6.0 and is for WB 7.x.x
Google Maps Javascript API Version 3
"I ask that all users update to this version of the extension as Google maps v2 official Javascript API has been officially deprecated as per Googles deprecation policy."
Please note that this is no longer a translated version but a total rebuild of the map using the latest API.

The Google Maps Javascript API lets you embed Google Maps in your own web pages. Version 3 of this API is especially designed to be faster and more applicable to mobile devices, as well as traditional desktop browser applications.

Ok, thanks, BaconFries.

But now I am wondering where the download link is for the extension? I tried going to:

http://wysiwygwebbuilder.com/extensions.html

But I am not seeing it there. Here is a screenshot of the "Google Map" extensions I have that are, I believe, hold-overs from previous versions of WB I had, and I am not sure if I have the most current Google Maps extension or not. AND I am not sure which one is yours, BaconFries, because I think I downloaded one or more that were other Google Map extensions. Here's an image:

BaconFries wrote:Please ensure that you are uploading all files to your host/server, it seems that you are missing the googlemap.html, if this isnt on your host the pop up wont display it ...the way it works is like this:

The map is displayed in a iframe on that page that you have inserted it on, this means that there will be two HTML pages, one for the page the extension is on. and another for the map HTML (googlemap.html) itself. So If you add a text link to one page and are calling the map from another page then there will be now 3 HTML files that you are needed to make it work

1. HTML page for the text link
2. HTML page you have the map extension on this contains a iframe with the map HTML.
3. And finally the maps HTML page itself googlemaps.html

I have made a example wbs to show this that will include all three html pages required to make it work.
I've opened the sample wbs file you made, and so it's a little clearer on how it all works.

However, I'm still unclear as to how we actually create the googlemaps.html file. Is this something we create? Is it some sort of file you get form Google's system somehow by entering a query of coordinates for a given latitude/longitude or whatever..?

The address I'm trying to get to work on Google Maps is

1155 NE 28th Street Fort Worth TX, 76106 (in the United States)

Its latitude and longitude coordinates are

32.7952027
-97.3400177

respectively.

This is the page of my WB8 website on which I am just trying to place 3 Google Maps that show this address:

http://willbanksmetals.com/contact.php

But I'm obviously missing something. Here's how I've configured the "Google Maps V3 Properties" on my page there:

Image

What am I missing? I'm pretty sure it's something with googlemaps.html . I've not uploaded anything else for it beyond just entering those coordinates in my "Properties" of my Google Maps V3 Properties.

Please try not bump a question... I will always try to answer any questions related to my extensions as quick as possible...but I do have a life away from the forum..

I have tried the lat and long that you gave with a icon and it works for me...
texasmap.jpg
To use the extension just drag & drop to the page you wish it on, to obtain the lat&long cordinates visit one of the following urls and enter the details of the location that you wish to be displayed in the map, then enter into the lat and long properties

http://www.getlatlon.com/
http://backups.nl/geocoding/
maplatlong.jpg
The zoom level is just to show the ariel view distance the will be shown of the location the smaller the number the closer the ariel view will be to the location view on the map
zoom.jpg
If you wish to use a maker to show the position of thr location of the lat7long you can use this, you can use your own image(png) or you can download a premade selection from the following

Download link for Map markers ONLY this does not contain the extension.
http://www.mediafire.com/?6e9w1bt2mm22cu9
mmarker.jpg
If you wish to use more than one map in your site then you will need to give each map its own unique name, this is so that you do not override any other map/s that you have already created with the extension. The extension will create the googlemap.html for you or if you require more that one you would nename this to Example:googlemap1.html or mylocation.html or wearehere.html...or what ever you wish....aslong as each map used has its own unique name.....

Hey BaconFries, wanted to ask you something about the Map.

It's working very well for me, but I wanted to ask you about something.

Here's the page where my 3 maps are located:

http://willbanksmetals.com/contact.php

Any idea why my little red pointer isn't showing up? I know that when I first put up this extension, the pointers were showing up and everything. Both me and my client noticed that, early on. But for some reason, they are either not showing up now, or they *do* show up, and just take a long time to load.

http://s393104911.onlinehome.us/red-dot.png
Image

Any ideas no how to ensure they will load, and then ensure they load faster..?

Ok please ensure that the image/pin that you use is saved as a websafe format, second when using the image insert the shadow.png along with image /pin you wish to use and se if that helps.

Any idea why this instance of Google Maps isn't working for me? I copy/pasted it from one of my other .WBS project files, and then just changed the Longitude and Latitude values to this new address, and then changed some of the names:

http://ktravisj.com/alex/contactus.php

Just doesn't seem to display..? Whereas, the web-page that DOES display the Google Maps instance from where copy/pasted works fine, it's here:

Why did you not simply just use the extension again instead of copy and pasting from another project? I have looked at both urls and the clue/answer is in the naming! one url is poiting to a folder were one isnt! try placing the googlemap.html in the relevert folder and it should work

<iframe style="position:absolute;width:300px;height:300px" src="googlemaps.html" scrolling="no" frameborder="0"></iframe>

<iframe style="position:absolute;width:300px;height:300px" src="alex/googlemaps.html" scrolling="no" frameborder="0"></iframe>

No your are not missing anything, the extension can only be downloaded and installed via the "Extension Manager" for users of WYSIWYG Web Builder 8 and higher. Also note if you have any questions related to this extension, then you should post it at this thread, were if I can answer it I will.

I Install this extension using "Extension Manager" in WYSIWYG Web Builder 8.5.1. I get standard message "Installed", all files is in directories. But I don`t show this extension in Extension list. Where can I find this extension to use this?
