There are already a few extensions that use jquery to control them so yes extensions could be made from the url you gave but it needs a builder to make them or you could try making them for yourself...

jQuery Accordion Widget - Version 1.01

jQuery Dialog Widget - Version 1.0

And some others that use it as well....

Guys,
Have a look at this free script from phpjabbers to watermark images while display.

http://www.phpjabbers.com/phpexample.php?eid=20
Can this be made into an extension?

Frankly, image display extensions are too many around on the WB forum. Lets work on something different now! :D

True, but they are giving it as a download the font that is:
I am going to use arial font which you can also download
So if we put that in the 'files for upload' in an extension, will it not work?

Well it depends on where they want you to place it. For example I could not use your Error 404 as it required to be placed in a specific place and I think as soon as you have to start to tinker with that, you might as well manually add the script to your page.

Treasure trove of Ideas

Post by amrajadhyaksha »

I know that maybe none of the effects you will see on this site are free. However, I was terribly impressed, and only wish to share with all of you. Perhaps the designers amongst us will find the concepts useful.
And maybe some will even develop extensions.

Please visit http://www.designkitchen.com and their portfolio sites. The work is terrific.

Re: Beziers for Curved Text Extension

Post by amrajadhyaksha »

We already have a curved text Extension which I just love.
My problem is that my hand is not so fluent at drawing smooth curves.
If there is a way that beziers or something similar could be provided to shape the curve into smoothness while going from point A to point B, the extension would be more meaningful for people like me too.
Thanks.

Don't know if that one's worth making into an extension, you can do it yourself with a shape, a few images, and some text objects...
greyp instead of making useless comments why don't you try making an extension out it????!!!! I don't need you to point things that are irrelevant and useless to me or anyone else who makes a suggestion or request in this section. As ME has rightly pointed out, if it was as you stated it is, I would have done it myself. So put your money where your mouth is and show us what you are made of. :wink:

Hello,

I do not really know if this is a correct nomenclature. Please visit http://www.fujifilm.com/products/digita ... /features/ and hover over the All Series or All Models to see what I mean.

Do we have something like this in the free extensions? If not, something on the way?
Thanks in anticipation.

It could be made into a extenaion if WB didnt use absolute positioning for the placement of text, images, etc...if you look at the Accordion object in WB it always has one page open...if the page was closed and you placed it on a page closed and inserted a image or text directly below it would get hidden when the accordion page opened so this would mean that your layout would be disorted meaning the user would need to close all the opened accordion pages to read see the images that have been hidden...

Nice one if it can be done ! good luck guys ...
Wow. That was my post from August 2009 :) Since then, Pablo and the user community have added the capability to do nice accordions. I ended up using that stickman script, tuning it up by hand. I like its minimalist look. The edits needed to have an accordion start with all panels closed is in the tips, trick and code forum. As Baconfries cautions, don't space another object too close under the accordion.

Just found this open source star rater using jquery, it is called:

RateIt - a jQuery (star) rating plugin

Can be found at this website:

http://rateit.codeplex.com/

I've downloaded two .js files, a css file & related star images but unfortunately I do not know how to implement it in wysiwyg :oops:

This is a recently developed script that is billed as being easy to implement (they not meet me before)

The script is highly configurable & would be of great benefit to the community if someone could develop this into an extension.

Hopefully someone can pick up on this.

Re: SUGGEST FOR EXTENSION DEVELOPMENT

Post by JimmyJazz »

Hi me.prosenet,

Yes I have extensively looked at what is available in the extensions & all of them have issues associated with them.

I have a review website where I want to use star rating for users but I do not want to change my webpages from .html to .php
I also do not want limitations on how many times I can use the star rater.
I know Baconfries is currently looking at trying to update Eddys star rater but that is still a work in progress & will still be limited to 800 pages.

Did you look at the website providing this code?
I think anyone with experience of creating extensions will easily be able to implement this for wysiwyg. It also has the benefit of being easily configurable (once installed).

I believe it will be a vast improvement on any of the star raters available so far & give far more flexibility.

Post by BaconFries »

Ok to clear things up I am not taking over the star rater exntension by Eddy I have simply contacted him and he has kindly given me the star rater (800) that was getting asked for...I dont have enough time to be updating/modifying my own extension let alone Eddys....so I really will only be helping were I can and if I can... I have read about the rateit jQuery script and yes it maybe be nice but if you read it in detail it uses jQuery 1.4.3 or newer to work. this means that it is not compatible with many of the jQuery objects and extensions available for WB as they use jQuery 1.4.2 so using the rateit along with lets say the jQuery Sldeshow would cause conflicts with both scripts, so to be fully compatible it mean all jQuery objects, extensions be updated to match one script...

I would like a Wikipedia Search extension just like the Google Search extension but with an option to have the Submit button either to the left or to the right of the input box.
I think the fields needed include the following:
method="GET"
action="http://www.wikipedia.org/search-redirect.php"
<input name="search" type="text">
<input type="hidden" name="language" value="en">
</form>

As I stated in the other thread, thank you so much for this extension. I have been trying to get one like this for two years. I wanted to see if there is a way to add some sort of way for the viewer to go back to the previous slide instead of having to wait for it to go back around.

I found this incredible slider that allows for html content in your slides called Anything Slider.

I implemented it for a client and thought it would make for a very powerful extension.

Don't thank me yet! He's given the go-ahead and I'm looking at it now but boy oh boy is it a monster or what! There's more options in this than anything I've seen. I suspect this could take a while...and looking at the demos he's sent it may end up as more than one extension.....if I can make it into one that is!

I am pretty close to a working extension but I'd like a couple of volunteers to put it through its paces!!!

I have not written the HELP file yet so you would have to use your initiative. Also you should be aware that this extension is very likely to be a 'work in progress' for some time as it has so many options that I have had to break it down into modules. This version of the extension is effectively DEMO2 (see original link). Once this version is viable and released I will continue to work on DEMO3 (with captions) and add that to the next version.

To keep testing manageable I only want to work with two or three volunteers to start with. Interested people should email me via my contact page and supply their email address and name. First come first served! ;)
