PHP Guestbook with strong anti-SPAM protection

Postby support » Thu Sep 04, 2008 5:18 pm

This extension is a nice PHP guestbook where your visitors can post comments about your website. It comes with strong anti-SPAM protection, IP banning, smileys, entry notification via e-mail and more.

This extension was created with Extension Builder 1.00 and is based on GBook 1.6 by Klemen Stirn.

Download the extension here:

Please read the PDF document and readme.htm for more details.

Support, would it be possible to post a link for the .xwb file that you made for this extension or maybe include it with the zipped download?
The extension builder is a great addition to WB but it is kicking my butt trying to resolve different levels of problems.....Going over the examples help tremendously....Thanks
Trying to understand XSL and XML while learning PHP, Javascript, Ajax, etc. is overwhelming at times.....
By the way, I appreciate the new extension....... :D

support, is that off PHPJunkYard?
I found that website today and they had "My lovely website" and the same details as your one?

If it is, well done it makes it a lot easier to engrave it into web builder!

Yes as mentioned above (and in the PDF), this script was created by Klemen Stirn from PHPJunkYard.

Wow that works great... within about 5 minutes I have a guest book up and running with no messing about with code, good work guys. The e-mail feature also works fine for me.

Tip:

One thing I did discover though is that the guest book didn't display correctly at first. I had several images and master frames below the guest book object and the only area it displayed correctly was below these images. I did however discover that if you stick it in a new layer all displays without any problem... just some thing to be aware of.

Also, an option to remove the "Back to [web site]" link would be great, as it's an object on the page rather than a full page there's no need for this link. I've left mine blank so if anyone clicks it nothing happens.

For the Dutch people among us, here's a Dutch translation for this extension.

You can use an .htaccess file to block IP from visitors if your site is hosted on a apache server.
